Tracy Sorensen
Legal Assistant Tracy Sorensen works closely with Mary Kay, providing assistance and information to clients in Family Law Mediation cases and scheduling mediations. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning a BA degree in Political Science, and graduated from UCLAs Legal Assistant Training program. In addition to working as a paralegal, Tracy's past employment includes working as a substitute teacher for Lincoln Public Schools and as a counselor in a group home for pregnant and parenting teenagers. Tracy has served on the Willard Community Center board and the Lakeview Elementary School PTO board.
Karen Davison
The newest member of our staff is Legal Assistant/Social Security Disability Specialist, Karen Davison. Karen works closely with Mary Kay to provide information, assistance and technical expertise to clients seeking Social Security Disability Benefits. Karen graduated magna cum laude from the Chadron State College of Business. Prior to joining our organization, Karen was employed by the Social Security Administration as a claims representative and a technical expert. She retired from Social Security in August, 2010, with over 24 years of service.

Provided by YP.comI was recently diagnosed with ALS. No medical treatment is available so the only first step was filing with Social Security to get disability income started asap. Being a lawyer once, I prepared the application myself. To my shock my claim was denied. The impact of this was far greater than my dying.
Then I found Mary Kay Hansen. Her specialty is Social Security and her knowledge and expertise is unparalleled in Nebraska. While very professional she still brings true empathy to her cases. She really knew how devastated facing this life destroying disease and the denial of disability was to my wife and me. She helped us in finding hope. She took the case it was only weeks before I was receiving disability.
Before she got involved we were only thinking how we could we ever get through this. Mary Kay Hansen has now enabled us to focus on how we can maximize our limited time together. She didn’t give us more years, but she gave us a chance of happiness in these years.

- Mary Kay's practice focuses on the mediation and litigation of family law matters, including: parenting plans, divorce, custody, paternity, child support and the modification and enforcement of domestic relations orders. Recognizing the destructive nature of litigation, Mary Kay focuses on resolving matters without the need for Court intervention. Mary Kay is trained as a mediator and has been approved by the Office of Dispute Resolution as a Parenting Act mediator. She is also a Specialized Alternative Dispute Resolution mediator, which allows her to provide mediation services in cases involving domestic abuse. Mary Kay represents clients before the Social Security Administration, who due to accident, illness or mental health challenges, are unable to maintain employment because of their disability. Mary Kay assists clients with their applications to obtain Social Security disability insurance benefits, social security income, child dependency benefits, and disabled widow/widower benefits.
