Nasty

We ate here in January 2009 and it was the most unpleasant experience we've ever had in Lincoln. First, we sat for 25 minutes waiting to be served in a nearly empty restaurant. Then the waitress came and was so rude we could hardly believe she was employed there. We thought maybe were we on a Candid Camera episode! The first course was our appetizers and they were cold, and the hot and sour soup tasted like it was about 2 weeks old. I literally spit it out into my napkin. When I complained about the soup, the waitress all of a sudden forgot her English and just walked away. We took her lead, and we just walked out. This is the same people that run the Jade River Buffet, which is also horrible. Run away! This place is nasty! The other reviews have to have been made by relatives.

Suberb in everything

The minute you walk in to the Imperial Palace, you feel that you are the most important person in the restaurant. Stanley Jou, the owner works very hard to be the best there is, and it definitely shows. His friendliness and genuine interest in his customers is a huge asset.

There are daily lunch specials on a separate menu from the dinner selections. Everything I've had there has been very delightful. The portions are generous, and the staff are always ready with take-away containers so you can have another meal at home.

A Chinese buffet would be a nice touch, but I think it's great just the way it is.

Just a word of warning though: if you go there and he is serving a big wedding, it's probably best to come another time.

The Imperial Palace is always a great place to go!

Nice Change from Chinese Buffets

This is a very nice restaurant. It's nice to have food prepared fresh for you instead of all the standard mass produced "Chinese" entrees you find at the numerous Chines buffet places in town. The overall atmosphere is nice, too; it was very peaceful and relaxing. My only suggestion would be to open up a second restaurant on the east side of town-with all the new commercial buildings going up on and around 84th and 70th Streets, I'd love to see a good Chinese place like yours open up a little closer to home!! (Location is the only thing that brought it down to 4 stars)

A local favorite of mine

I ONLY WISH I COULD FIND THEIR HOT BRAISED PORK HERE IN PENNSYLVANIA. NOTHING HERE CAN COMPARE TO THIS RESTAURANT. I MISS IT A LOT. IN THE PAST 3 YEARS I HAVE BEEN HERE, I HAVE DONE A LOT OF SEARCHING.
