Overall my experience last year and a half has been pretty good the only problem that I have had with them is that they have good counselors but they can't seem to keep them employed for very long

Along with God and my wife, I can accredit Lexington Treatment Associates and their staff with the act of saving my life. If you are opiate dependent (whether it's heroin or pills), LTA will offer you a legitimate opportunity to lay down your habit for good. If anyone tries to convince you that Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) is simply trading in one drug for another one then one of two things is going on. Either they have never experienced the pain and misery that accompanies withdrawal, or they are like my mother, who thinks that all drugs are the devil and the only right way to do it is to just put them all down. While this sounds good, for those of us who have become opiate dependent we know that this is the closest thing to impossible that you can find. When you enroll at LTA, you are assigned a counselor with which you will sit down with one on one on a regular basis. In a timely and efficient manner you and your counselor will determine what the best dose of methadone is for you. Because we all have different levels of tolerance, what works for me may not be strong enough for you, or vice versa. I have found that my counselor is available pretty much all of the time, so if I have a need to talk to them they are readily available. This is really nice for people like myself. I am definitely the black sheep of the family, with drug use being considered the worst sort of taboo that one could imagine. I can't talk to them about it.



Bottom line: Methadone Maintenance works. If it doesn't work for you, you probably didn't want to stop the drug use anyway. But if you are like myself and are tired of being a slave to the game, chasing dope and/or the high, and hurting yourself and your loved ones, you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to give this an honest effort. I have zero regrets in my decision to come here.
