I was concerned after reading review form 2012 but my homebuilder did use Texas Plumb Mechanical and am happy to say we have had no problems. Maybe homeowner below was having a bad day.

Texas Plumb Mechanical – Wor...

Texas Plumb Mechanical – Worst Case Scenario!! They must have hired untrained labor to do their work. Building new home through Grenadier Homes and Texas Plumbing Mechanical were the plumbers used on my new home. I have no idea what the extent of the problems are remaining in my new home, but after several visits during the build phase as well as after closing, here are the problems discovered. Every single faucet/tub/toilet had the incorrect hot water on the wrong side – do they really hold a license to do plumbing work? Some faucets had hot water on both the hot and cold side. The problems were discovered and home builder contacted plumber to fix and after sheetrock/bath/tub tiles had to be broken through to repair, we thought all had been resolved prior to closing. Problems after closing - Every toilet chain had to be adjusted to keep the flapper from staying open and wasting water. Washer dryer hookups backwards (hard to get wrong due to color coding and labeling of hookups) we ended up having to just connect our hot hose to the blue cold water hookup and reverse the other hose. Went outside in back yard and washed down a tarp to find out I couldn’t hold my thumb over the garden hose anymore due to hot water coming out my garden hose!! On top of just getting hot/cold wrong and not fixing the first time, we had a leak from the 2nd story toilet and mold ended up growing on the ceiling downstairs! That repair ended up in multiple visits to complete as well as the plumber did not come with all parts needed and left the jobsite without finishing. What else could a plumber get wrong? We have yet to see, we have been in our home less than a month. Force your builder to use different plumbing company and never hire them!
