Life is filled with potholes but with God, there are no cliffs. Our experiences in life make us stronger if we consider them stepping stones and NOT stumbling blocks. Everyone needs a strong, knowledgeable, kind, and wise guide to help them through the most difficult of life's challenges...and every one of us has those! Marriages fail, kids make bad choices, people hurt us. How do we survive and what is the difference between simply surviving and completely thriving? Counseling is the beginning of a new, more positive way of thinking about yourself and the world. Counseling teaches couples how to argue and resolve instead of resent. It reveals what BOTH spouses are doing that's unproductive. Therapy through divorce provides a safe, honest place to voice your fears, and even your guilt and regrets. Therapy during dating helps to answer questions about choosing the right person and "Am I the best person I can be". Often teens refuse to listen to advice from parents but suddenly have ears to hear when a therapist says the same thing. Sometimes simply the manner in which we deliver a message is THE reason it is rejected. We decide how to deliver messages. Do we deliver messages in the best and most "hearable" METHOD? Or are our best efforts of wisdom lost in our tone and method of delivery? Therapy helps people communicate in the most kind and easily "hearable" manner possible. Assumptions? Most marriages are riddled with them. Most assumptions are WRONG in some or most ways. If you make an assumption and immerse yourself in it as though is was correct, you will respond emotionally as though it was 100% true. What if you are wrong? Most conflict in marriage is based on inaccurate assumptions that are lived out and used unproductively. Learn what is truth and what is not. Conflict resolution, self-worth, relationship with God, frustration tolerance levels, trust issues, how we view others, ourselves and God = the way we see ourselves and our FUTURE.
