Terrible customer service and terrible billing dept!

Prior to scheduling any appts for myself or my spouse, I verified my insurance with the receptionist who assured me that they accepted my insurance, they were in network and that everything would be covered with no issues. So I proceeded to schedule to routine cleaning and needed some dental work. I later received a call from the receptionist several months after the date of service telling me that my insurance was giving them trouble and they claims were being denied. I contacted my insurance company only to find out that the office was billing the claims under the wrong person, they continued to get my spouse and myself mixed up therefore the claims were being denied. I received another call from the receptionist requesting that I pay nearly a $1000 bill. I informed her that they have never billed my insurance nor have they sent me a statement. Not to mention that you cannot call to collect on a debt when you have never sent the patient a statement. After I made multiple calls to our insurance company trying to help the billing department do their own work, I was finally informed that they were out of network and my insurance would not pay 100% for a cleaning that is considered preventative services. This office lies to you to get your money. Save yourself time, money, energy, and undo stress and go elsewhere!!! Do yourself a favor and contact your insurance company (not the receptionist) to make sure they are TRULY in network so you aren't stuck with a $1000 bill!!! This should be considered illegal, but they continue to get away with this!
