WebsiteWith offices in La Plata and Leonardtown, Md., the Center for Children is a private, nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive mental health services to children and their families. It offers services to clients in Charles, St. Mary's, Calvert and lower Prince George's counties in Maryland. The center utilizes more than 500 volunteers a year who assist with its annual golf tournament, its CASA and Friends Indeed Mentoring programs, office projects and supervised visitation. The Center for Children offers a variety of crisis intervention, mentoring, information and referral, community education, and individual, group, play and family therapies. It also provides the assessment and evaluation of children, psychological and psychiatric testing, and new and teenage family support and education.

Provided by YPmobileI had an appointment that I set for my daughter with the receptionist Holy. The day before the appointment, I called to ask about my daughter seeing the doctor. Holly informed me that my daughter didn't have an appointment and that she had been discharged. I was then told she'd have to start the process over and be on a wait list. When I asked if they had a place they referred patients to if the wait list was too long, the receptionist was very short with an "I don't know" answer. The professionalism at center for children has really gone downhill over the last few years.
