Dr Cavallaro is one of only a few dentists in San Diego County that performs Laser Gum Surgery (LANAP procedure). This procedure is nearly painless and the few times I did experience pain, Dr Cavallaro stopped immediately to administer more local anesthetic. Both the dentist and his assistant stay alert to the first sign of pain and act quickly to alleviate the discomfort. If you are at all nervous about the procedure he offers a pill for sedation or nitrous. I chose nitrous and if the percentage is too much or not enough he will adjust accordingly. Post operation pain is minimal - less than having a tooth extracted. If given a choice between laser surgery or going shopping - bring on the laser - it's much more pleasant.
