EXTREMELY disappointed!!!!!



After having our consultation and setting everything up, I found out that the price had been jacked up more than double because we mentioned it was a WEDDING. I understand that wedding cakes take more time and care, I understand there is more involved, etc. But my cake design (which I brought to them - they did not have to do any thinking at all) is EXTREMELY simple and STILL, I was being charged MORE THAN DOUBLE what a regular cake costs. I find it APPALLING that wedding vendors feel they can take advantage of someone just because they know how important their wedding day is. Even for a SHEET CAKE...which stays in the back and does not have to be elaborate...they wanted to charge me TWICE AS MUCH!!!!



Once I complained about this, they decided to cancel my order and left me without a cake 3 WEEKS BEFORE OUR WEDDING!!!!!



Seriously people...if you go to them...LIE, LIE, LIE!!! Do not mention the word "Wedding" at all and you will get a much cheaper price!



I drove so far to get this cake ordered and now I TOTALLY regret it.

They do not care about their costumer or their costumer's privacy



Came in to place an order for a custom cake. Angeline was the cashier that helped me place my order. I changed my mind about a certain detail on my order and she did not take it well, she started giving me attitude. Then I gave her my cash to pay part of the bill and my card for the rest of it. Angeline charged my card, she then called assistant manager, Karla, and they both did not inform me of what was going on until Karla swiped my card again and told me it was declined. I checked my account right away and found out they charged the whole bill on my card. I told her I want my money to return to my account and she told me to wait to see if the pend has been released so she can do so. She went to the back of the bakery and brought out the paper showing me it has been cancelled and I told her i'll just continue with the transaction. Karla told me that I would have to wait for the bank's response. I told her that I did not want to drive back and forth, so she said I can give her my card info over the phone or leaving the info with them. I told her that I do not feel comfortable leaving or giving my card info over the phone. Karla then told me that they will just do it by the transaction number so I do not have to call and give my card information. I called the next morning and spoke with Sandra and told her the whole situation. I asked her if they would really be able to continue charging my card by just the transaction number even though they have already voided it. Sandra told me that they are unable to do that and that I don't have to worry because they have my credit card information stabled to my paper work. I asked if it was only the last 4 digits of my card and she said no, it's the whole number. She told me to call back and wait for the owner at 10a.m. I called back and spoke with the store owner, Teresa. She told me that they have shredded my information the last night I went there, even though Sandra had clearly told me that they still have my credit card information. I told the store owner that they just violated my privacy right, I DID NOT give them consent or approval of having my card information, and I also clearly stated to Karla and Angeline that I do not want them to copy my card numbers and security code on the back, but they still did. The owner should have corrected this action, but instead she protected her employees even though this is they just lied to a customer. If they told me the first place that they would run my card again just by the transaction number only, they should do what they have said and not secretely copy my card information behind my back.



Not only did they violate my privacy but they did with other costumers as well. As Karla was showing me that my transaction has been voided she stapled the paper to a receipt and her business card. As soon as I returned home I reviewed over the paper work to find out that Karla has also given me other costumers last 4 digits of their credit card, EXPIRATION DATE and CARD TYPE. I know that I would not feel comfortable if I knew they have been doing that. I brought it up to Teresa and she mentioned that it was "ONLY" the last 4 digits of the card info when now and days people are able to anything with that kind of info.

Horrible service cake was dry warning never come here they treat you bad they want to give what they want thanks to them my dad got sick so much for the travel to get a cake and for the poor service they provide and the manager is a jerk

I went to this bakery for my daughters baby shower because after shopping around I believed I found a bakery that could make a custom cake for a reasonable price. I told them what I wanted on the phone, went there gave them a picture, was told sure, no problem, we can do that, was given a quote... everything good, right.....oh nooo! Day of shower I called the bakery to inform them I was on my way and could they have the cake ready, I was told the cake was not ready and and could I pick it up in a few hours, I asked what the problem was and was told "we have some larger orders and needed to complete them first" I told them they can have an extra 2 hours thats all, the party was starting in 2 1/2 hrs. As it was I has to inlist someone else to pickup the cake. Long story short, Ha, Ha. Got the cake with 15 mins to share...it looked like some preschooler made it and can you believe they charged me more than they quoted me. Way to go Grove Pastry Shop! WON"T COME BACK and you know the saying "tell a friend" you bet I will !!!!!

Grove Pastry Shop is my favorite bakery and I thought I would share. I have been going to Lemon Grove Bakery for all my birthday cakes and deserts for years. I got married last year and they did my wedding cake. like always I had a great experience and my cake was perfect and tasty :0) Then we had our first Anniversary this year and I called to get a cake. The owner Teresa(very nice lady) offered to make a cake that resembled my wedding cake. I received a cake that looked like the top layer of my wedding cake. When I got it home I looked at my wedding pictures to compare and the cake was exactly the same. AMAZING!!!! I was so excited. I am going to go back every year to get my anniversary cake so we can have our wedding cake every year....... I am so happy. Thank you so much.

Grove bakery been around for years. And I have use your guys for my mom/father/grandparents for cakes. On June 16, 2008. I order a cake for my niece. And the manager on the phone was very very very very very very rude. I'm getting married in2009. I will not use your service. And tell everyelse not to go their. Because of the manager attutidue. Manager should be more professional in her business.



She also stated you can take your business someone (yes she did}



Put this on the internet. And let people know you can be rude

We've been going to this bakery for years. We travel quite a distance to get a cake from them for special occasions. Their cakes are really good and are reasonably priced.

I've heard this is a great little bakery
