I got a two week trial period and felt pressured into signing up for a contract membership at the end. $50 a month for a basic membership, quite expensive in my opinion; especially after I've heard about rates for other gyms that include classes, tanning, etc. Including classes in a membership brings it to hundreds of dollars a month, and you can't get classes a la carte, so to speak, you have to commit to them for at least a year. After my year contract was up, I expected my card to stop being charged. But it instead went onto a month-to-month membership at $55 a month. I received no notification that it would change to that or anything. And I can't even cancel it right away, they require me to come in and give thirty days notice, so I still have to make one more payment. I know I probably signed the contract agreeing to all this over a year ago, but I would find it to be good business practice to remind customers their regular membership is up and will automatically change to an even more expensive plan. Good money maker if nothing else.
