Where do I start? Can I give the rating a ZERO? We purchased something back in May and immediately went to return it. Store policy is that they don't give refunds, just a store credit. We took our store credit slip of paper and did not return until just before Christmas. When we made our way back to shop the owner was at the counter ready to help us. My mom grumbled about the store policy and the owner said it's on the ticket and it's up to the customer to know the policy before they buy. Well if it's seen on the ticket and that's the first you hear about it, you're too late!



Anyway, the owner used the word "screwed" and started getting very hateful with my mom as she was "looking" for her copy in her little file box filled with people who obviously have run into the same situation. Funny thing is that the owner had found it and sat it on the counter, hiding it under her hand as she grew angrier and angrier at my mom for who knows why. I had to leave with my young daughter because I was afraid of what the crazy lady was going to say next. My mom found me about 5 minutes later and told me she pointed out to the lady that the original was under her hand and that made the owner even more furious. She threw the goodies we were buying at my mom and said "I hope you don't have a merry Christmas". She also forbade my mom to ever go in there again. Ha ha. Not to worry! Not only is the store credit only/slip of paper system so outdated which would keep me from shopping there, the owner was atrocious. I find it hard to believe that they are in business and although I promote small business when I can, this is one I would skip. Her Vera Bradley is outdated and there are patterns in the store that I can buy online at a clearance price. She had one pattern that I purchased new two years ago and is still asking full price. The crafty section of her store is lame and with so many talented artists in Lawrence, I would suggest to anyone to look elsewhere.
