The Lauderhill Police Department is a community oriented police agency of more than 100 sworn officers and nearly 30 civilian personnel serving a diverse population of 65,000-plus people in south Florida. The city encompasses more than eight square miles and is bordered by the Florida cities of Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise, Plantation, Lauderdale Lakes and Tamarac. The Lauderhill Police Department is committed to maintaining the utmost safety and protection of its residents while striving to enhance their quality of life. The department is accredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation and was recognized in 2005 by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. It encourages officers to continue with higher education by offering a tuition reimbursement program. Lauderhill is close to two state-supported universities as well as several private universities. The city of Lauderhill is located in central Broward County just west of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
