Hydro Carbide plants are leading suppliers of preformed tungsten carbide compositions for multiple markets. The company s products include tungsten carbide rod, die parts, rolls and related products for the metalworking market. Fansteel Hydro Carbide is also a major supplier of nozzles, studs and substrates, valve parts, bearings and other wear parts for the oil and energy industries. Additional industries served include polycrystalline diamond production, can-making and fluid handling. At the 33,000-square-foot Gulfport, Miss., facility, products are mechanically pressed by specially designed equipment, machined, sintered and/or sinter/HZP and diamond-wheel ground for exact size and geometry. Primary markets include rotary tool and fabrication and rock drilling. Hydro Carbide operations are supported by warehouses in Latrobe, Pa., and Gulfport, Miss. Inventories for off-the-shelf delivery are available from the company s central warehouses in Pennsylvania and Mississippi and local warehouses in Los Angeles and Chicago.
