Unfortunately we have lived here for 2 & a half years; our lease is up in October, & it couldn't be soon enough! By far one of the absolute WORST apartments/apartment complexes we've ever lived in; the management is rarely ever here, & if you ever have an issue, don't bother talking to the manger about it; you will be told one or all of the following: 1.-It's not my problem, 2.- I don't want to get involved, 3.-You can either switch apartments IF we have one available, or I'll just start evictions. They put both my husband & I through back-round, work, & credit checks to move in, but now it seems as though they just want to fill up any empty apartments. The laundry room leaves a lot to be desired, & half the washers & dryers don't work due to other occupants rigging them with paper clips because they don't want to pay to do laundry. The mailbox keys they give you don't work, plus there are no numbers on the mailboxes ( they look as thought they haven't been upgraded in about 3 decades). They finally have decent maintenance, it only took them 2 years to do so! The windows are plexi-glass, & what they call "carpet" is basically the carpet version of Astro turf in brown. There are a number of other things I could add, but these are just a few highlights! In short, PLEASE don't waste your time, money, or the hassle with The Parks at Maryland, for you will definitely regret it!

It's funny how people that write these kinds of reviews are always anonymous. My name is Eduardo Calderon and I have lived at The Parks at Maryland for over 20 years. Whenever I have had a repair order the maintenance staff has always fixed it promptly and professionally. The girls that work in the office now are some of the nicest people I have ever met. As far as roaches are concerned you see the occassional pest because, lets face it, we live in a desert environment. The complex provides courtesy pest service you can request at anytime. If you live a clean lifestyle you will not have a pest issue. Maybe these people that write these types of negative reviews should look in the mirror. It's my guess they were probably evicted and are just seeking revenge. My advice is don't believe any reviews like this. Go see the apartments for yourself and talk to the people living there. I have personaly referred many of my friends (about 10 or 11) to live there and they are all happy.

bad place to live,NO landscaping just sand and dirt.police are always in apts arresting drug dealers to fighting.

do move to these apts!!!they say there is landscaping it is a BIG lie.its all sand and dirt. Cops are always being call to these apts for fighting to drugs .U can check lvpd.com to what crimes happens here.The management is rude.Some apts are selling drugs out their apts and yet the management does not care.There is large population of Somali people ( they are good people)but they leave shoping carts all over the apts and the kids are running all around the apts after 10pm at night.Before i move here they told me they had 11 pools,they did all full of dirt and weeds.dont make the same mistake i did move here.

The people in the office act like they are bidding for stock to get you in there, At first it sounds way to good to be true and let me tell you (When in Dought Check it out) you will be glad you did.

When they took me into see one of these apartments it was nothing I have ever seen before, there are holes in the ceiling where it looks like they filled them in with caulking,all the plugs are clearly not up to code because they only have two prongs no three prongs, with the front door closed you can hear everything outside not to mention next door and when the people upstairs are walking it sounds like they are coming through the roof, the front door was hanging half on and you can see through the gap's around the door frame not to mention all the cold coming in through that door.

It smelled like wet dog and the vent where just painted over (dust and all).

Under the sinks where there is clearly visible water damage, instead of replacing the water damaged wood they just cut a piece of wood and place it over the bad wood.

I also asked around and found out that (Yes! They are gun hoe to get you moved in there, but if you are one day late on rent you have a 5 day notice taped to your door). For the whole world to see.

Oh I almost forgot, Plumbing Problems trough out the entire units, and cockroaches coming out of the ceiling and in some places you can see where the roaches laid their eggs cause there are a bunch of black specked dots next to where you just seen the roaches, plus i never lived in an apartment that did not have a patio or storage for your outside things.



Also on the outside there is paint flaking off the buildings and trash every where you look, the only landscaping is in front of the office the rest of the units are filled with sand like from the beach and when the wind blows the sand is every where and who ever heard of plastic mail boxes, with no kind of lighting or security around them.

If they would update these units and have them fixed and maintained by people who knew what they where doing instead of cutting corners and doing a half cocked job, it wouldn't be a bad place to live.

The units are big all but the kitchens they are very tiny, but the living room, dinning room and bedrooms are good sized.

If the people in the office where more honest on the phone and let you know it's a working progress, and that these apartments are like 30 years or older , it would have been better because then you would have a better idea on what to expect.
