Stole my money

Joseph Stoffer is a con artist who stole ten grand from my husband and I. He talked my husband into depositing this money into his checking accnt saying he's ordering silver from Canada. He dodged visits and later laughed and told us to take it up in court because he's not giving us silver or our money back.

This is an update of a review I wrote regarding how Joseph Soffer took my merchandise in March of 2016 and as of December 2016 he still has not paid me. I was contacted by David who also had the same experience. Joseph told him he will get paid in 30 days in July and as of December, he still has not received payment. This is a WARNING to all who are thinking about doing business with Joseph. He outbids his competitors so you will do business with him. Do not believe whatever price he quotes you, you will not see a penny of it.

Beware

I wanted to exchange merchandise for cash and Park Place Gold and Antiques in Las Vegas was recommended by a friend. The owner, Joseph Soffer, is a smooth operator who told me, in his country, "a handshake is as good as a contract". We shook hands, he took my merchandise in March 2016, and as of September 2016 has not paid me.

Joseph pretends to be a very religious orthodox man, claiming to observe all the holidays of his religion, however, until now he has not followed the golden rule. I am hoping that he will soon do so. He has ignored my many attempts to contact him. This review is a warning for all who are thinking about doing business with Joseph Soffer. Please be careful, be very careful dealing with Park Place Gold and Antiques.

Go-at your own risk!

I have NEVER been so upset in my entire life. DO NOT GO HERE!

SHOULD HAVE READ PHILIP'S REVIEW!!!

#1 Rule of Life: if it's too good to be true...

I went here after they ADVERTISED watch battery replacement, and when you like to accessorize like I do, watches with dead batteries pile up so a free battery replacement was a nice incentive.

Called ahead and got a quote for my Movado watch at $15 which is regularly as $50 battery replacement charge from REPUTABLE buisnesses. So...sounded great, right?

On Saturday when I dropped off the four watches and told them that I needed them finished by Tuesday when I was leaving town. I was told that the 'watch guy' would only be in Sunday and he would CALL me and give me prices for each watch (all were cheap watches except the Movado, so I wasn't worried about cost). Sunday at 5pm I still had not received a call from anyone so I called MYSELF and was told that the 'watch guy' didn't come/was sick or some other excuse and would be there the next day (Monday).

Monday morning I COME INTO the store to check on the status as get quotes since I had no info at all and was feeling uncomfortable about the situation. I ask if the 'watch guy' is there and get some shady half yes/no and I again stress that I have a flight early Tuesday and if they can't accommodate me, I would gladly go somewhere else just to have my watches finished.

I am then told that I could call in an hour to check the status-which is irritating that I need to be the one that keeps calling as the customer, but I sucked it up to get my watches and move on. I call AGAIN and hour later and am told, "eh, we don't know call back in fifteen minutes."

Being very generous, I call FORTY minutes later and hear, "yeah she can pick 'em up." I arrive where I am told that each batter was $10 to replace, which is very upcharged, and they couldn't OPEN my Movado and also did not have the correct battery for another watch so they just TAPED it back together. Lovely. I pay my check and leave when a light bulb goes off and I take a look at the Movado. The WHOLE BACK OF THE WATCH WAS SCRATCHED FROM TOOL MARKS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER TOOLS TO OPEN IT.

This is a $200+ plus watch, if they weren't table to open it they SHOULD have been HONEST over the phone instead of RUINING a watch (expensive or not)! I RETURNED again to the store, now for the FOURTH time and demanded to speak to the manager. I was told there are two and they are both busy, I reinstated that I clearly did not mind waiting. A manager (Jacob?) comes over and I being to tell him the story from the beginning when I get cut off with a "SO, WHAT'S THE POINT." Then, he tells me that I just want a free-be and tells me he'll take all the other batteries back OUT for my money back. I told him he could go ahead and placed the bag on the counter when he says, "LET ME DO YOU A FAVOR AND LET YOU KEEP THEM IN AND STILL GIVE YOU YOUR FREE-BE." Really?!

He couldn't figure out the credit card machine so he copied my credit card (now I'm afraid of some theft, ordering a new card by the way) and hands me cash. I have photo evidence of both watches AND voice recorded the experience after the first few moments when I realized this gentleman's disgusting believe of customer service. I will be uploading my photos and reporting them to the Better Buisness Bureau as well as calling Channel 13 News and my contacts there.

I am flabbergasted. DON'T ADVERTISE A SERVICE YOU CAN'T PERFORM AND TAKE A NOTE IN MANNERS AND SERVICE. Never, ever, have I been THIS DISGUSTED (obviously spending a lot of my time writing this and taking/loading photos).

You do not run a buisness like this. EVER.
