Earlier this year I brought my...

Earlier this year I brought my $20 watch to this business for a replacement crystal....cost, $35. Since the watch meant a great deal to me I had no qualms about spending the money for the repair. My father had been a watchmaker in N.Y.C. and Las Vegas for 65 years until his passing a few years ago. What did hurt is that this was the first time I've ever had to go to someone other than dad for any sort of watch repair. Nevertheless I brought my watch here to get the work done. I live nowhere near this store and I found getting there to be a somewhat difficult and confusing proposition. However having been made aware of this business as a result of their television advertising and not being familiar with any similar concerns nearer my home I decided to bring my watch there despite the distance.
A few days later I get a call from them telling me to retrieve my watch. I loaded my little dog in the car and we went for a ride. When I got there Ira (one of the owners and a real Brighton Beach kibbitzer ) hands me my watch with a new crystal BUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S LEATHER STRAP! My watch had an older but completely different Speidel metal Twist-O-Flex two tone band. After much head scratching and several trips to the rear of the store to confer with the watchmaker and whomever else might have had a hand in this mix up it was determined that my band had been switched with the band of another person's watch. That customer was contacted and agreed to come in so that both watches could be restored to their original condition by reversing the bands. (When I questioned Ira as to why the other unfortunate customer had not come to him regarding the mistake I was told that someone other than that customer had retrieved the watch for him and was unaware of the switch.)
After more than half an hour waiting I decided to bring my dog into the store-I wasn't happy about letting her remain in a parked car (windows open of course) until this other customer returned.
Another half hour goes by with me holding my dog in the store and ultimately the other customer returns with his watch. I have now been in the store for well over an hour due to a problem that was not of my making. Ira hands me my watch with MY band this time and I was flabbergasted to learn that I STILL owed him $35. A real chutzpah (gall, to those who may not understand chutzpah.) I wasn't upset over the mistake as I'm a reasonable person who is aware of the fact that mistakes can and do happen. Why it was necessary to remove the band to change a crystal is a mystery to me however. What bothered me is that I was offered nothing but a lame apology for my time and inconvenience. Rhetorically speaking would it have killed Ira to deduct a few dollars from the $35 repair price as a gesture of good will or to offer me some sort of token accommodation as it was I (as well as the other hapless customer) who paid for their mistake? Yes, it probably would have. As if this weren't enough of an indignity I was told by Ira in a voice loud enough for everyone else in the store to hear that my band was "disgusting" (his word) before they cleaned it. A textbook example of insult added to injury and clearly NOT the mark of a quality business staffed by professionals.
These are the kind of people I couldn't wait to run away from when I left N.Y.C. so many years ago. I felt as though I was the target of an authentic Delancey St. hustle. Apparently they subscribe to the notion that customers can either leave satisfied or go to hell; getting your money being their only concern. Penny wise and pound foolish. With dad gone I'll still have to find somewhere else to handle any watch and jewelry repair I might need in the future. These people are money worshiping schmucks.

I lost the diamond out of my wedding ring and went here to see if they could insert a CZ in it's place. They sure did, as well as fixed the broken setting and polished it all up for $65. It looks like new and you can't even tell it was broken or old. The service was excellent and the job was completed within 24 hours. I will be back!

Worst and most shocking experience of my life during a business deal. This is not an exaggeration either. I called this company to repair my large grandfather clock. I needed all of the gears and mechanics worked on after the clock being in storage for many years. They did get the clock working again, but only after dropping the grandfather clock on the floor. For reasons unknown to me, the older repair man decided to pick up a six-foot grandfather clock with his bare hands (without the thought to ask for help with two younger gentlemen at his side). He then bear-hugs the clock while straining to pick it up as the clock comes smashing to the floor in sections. You can only imagine the horror on my face as I witness this from the other side of the room. The repair man has the gall to act like it wasn't his fault and even screams at me when I attempt to cast blame at him for his actions. To make a long story short, Ira had to call two repair companies to fix the wood and structural damage to my clock as well as repair the damage to my wood flooring. Never in my life had I come so close to getting in a fight with an elderly person. That is how much my patience was tested that day. Ira still charged me for the clock at a hefty but discounted price. The clock will never be same mind you.

They are Thieves by Ginny 06/04/2014

I want into M&I International and wanted a watch cleaned. The first women told me it would be $125.00 to have it cleaned. She then approach the owner (in front of me) and he told her it would cost $225.00. Big ripoff. Will never go there again. Another Jeweler told me that it did not need a cleaning and was working just fine and he polished it for nothing.

Overpriced services and faulty products

I had the batteries of 5 different wrist-watches replaced -after 2weeks 2 watches didn't function any more - batteries were empty! Price for replacements (incl. labor) $85!

This business claims to be the biggest of its kind in NV - I don't doubt this exclamation - but only for the price of one-time only customers like me!

Not recommendable at all!!!

Excellent Service

I went in with my daughter who's watch had stopped working they checked the battery and let us know that the battery was fine and the watch needed service. Since we were not from the area we declined to have the work done and they did not charge for checking the watch. They could not have been nicer I am only sorry they are not closer to our home in NY.

DO NOT USE EVER. They Are Thieves!

If I could make mine a NEGATIVE Start I would. This place is a money grabbing lying stealing business. The clock repair man in the back told me several times my 2 clocks were worth $1500 to $2000 and $3000 to $5000. He told me it would cost about $350 to get them in selling order. I Did not want to pay the money because money is tight, but he reassured me that my clocks were worth it. A month goes by and I get a call that they are done. I go in to pick them up and I ask for a written appraisal so I could sell the clocks. The Store owner laughed at me when I told him the value I was given. He said I should not watch antique road show. I made him go get the old man and bring him out to me. Of course the old man said he would never give anyone a value. He does not do that he only repairs clocks. They are such lairs and they held my clocks hostage until I paid their ridiculous cleaning price. DON'T TAKE OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM EVER!!!!! I learned a $600 lesson!
