The district helped build the city's water delivery system and now provides water to more than one million people in Southern Nevada. The Las Vegas Valley Water District also services: Blue Diamond, Searchlight, Kyle Canyon and Jean. The Clark County Commissioners serve as the Water District's board of directors. The board appoints the general manager, who carries out day-to-day activities. The Water District was founded more than 50 years ago. The Las Vegas Valley Water District is headquartered in Las Vegas.
