Rude

This old lady is very rude and insensitive! I went in with my daughter who's cockatiel had just died after a year. We explained to her that it was her first bird and she loved it so much. She pointed out that we were feeding the bird with the wrong food (just seeds) and that my daughter is not quite ready to have a bird as a pet. She then walked to the door and opened it for us saying my daughter should consider another type of pet. My poor girl walked away feeling even worst thinking that she had killed her bird. She also pointed out that we need to have a background in biology to have a bird as a pet. I'm a first year PharmD student with BS Nursing so I am pretty sure that I have more than a Biology qualification. Maybe she meant zoology? Hmmm

I liked this store, when i went it was pretty clean for the amount of birds she has. The birds are in good sized cages. You can tell she loves her birds and takes care of them. The toy selection is large which is one of the deciding factors(mostly it has to be clean though) on if i will return, the prices were fair.

I called her when I was lookin...

I called her when I was looking for a home for my cockatiel because I am sick. When she told me she was full I asked her if there were any other facilites like hers to recommend so my bird could have a good home she said None that I would tell you honestly. WTF! All the bird handelers in town and shed rather not help out a bird if it wont put a penny in her pocket! Selfish! And then she tried get me to buy bird food from her! Is she insane! Never will i set foot in that place again! I will continue my search for a decent bird handler or rescue because i know they are out there. That made her a disgrace to bird stores in my eyes. Shes about as bad as the old lady at Bird Farm on nellis. DONT GO THERE EITHER!

Best thing ever for your birds!

The best thing you could ever do for your feathered friends in Las Vegas is to be a regular customer at Robins store. She has decades of knowledge and is always ready to help if you have a question or a problem with your bird. The store is clean and there is a large selection of beautiful birds that are VERY reasonably priced. The selection of toys and foods is nice & Robin always knows what your birds will need or like when it comes to both. Her birds are in excellent health and are normal, noisy/happy birds. Robin has, through the years, helped many a bird owner to save the life of thier little family member, whether it be by her knowledge or by her referral and recommendation of the best avian veterinarians in town. She will drop everything in her busy life to call the vet ahead of time for a bird/owner with an emergency to make sure they can get in right away. I hope she is in business for many years to come, as I have shopped in most of the bird stores in this valley & find hers to have not only great prices & selection, but a honest, hard working, animal loving person like Robin. Trust me when I say her place really is..."for the birds" & all about them! Do yourself a favor and ignore the negative reviews because they are NOT TRUE! Take it from a very happy multiple bird owner/customer...its the best!!!

the lady was rude and quoted me one price and then my dad another. i guess any way to make rent and personalize it per person. the store was dirty everytime i went in. she has more "store birds" than ones for sale.

I LOVE for the birds!

About 1 1/2 years ago a bought an african grey from what was thought to be a reputable store called Bahnna Bird Farm on''Nellis and Washington'' and no sooner than i brought the bird home (1 day later) the bird was ill. I took her to the vet, started her on antibiotics but with no luck she passed two days later. I was so sad because i did my research, fell in love with her, then lost her so soon. A while later i felt it was time to try again so thats when i drove past ''For the birds''. I stopped in and noticed how CLEAN it was, how much knowledge Robin had of the birds, and the love she has for them! I got another african grey and now i go there for ALL of my pet supply-toys and food. I thought i knew alot about birds but every time i go there i learn something new! For example, when your bird is in a heavy molt, they need extra calcium- you can give them almonds. Its all the little things that she has taught me about parrots, all the advice and patience she has had with me that makes me want to keep coming back. P.S....im thinking about adding anothere parrot to our family and will be definatly be getting it from her!!!!

Great Experience

Robin was helpful and concerned about my and the birds well being. She suggested a few brids that met my requirements and then said spend some time and the right bird will pick you. Sure enough it did. I purchased a Lilac Crowned Amazon and he/she is already settling in. The vet visit proved to be a great experience as well because the Doctor said I had a very healthy and happy bird. GREAT EXPERIENCE!
