EDUCATION Souzan El-Eid, MD, FACS, received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her internship at Yale New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus and a general surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center, where she served as administrative chief resident. She completed a critical care fellowship at Wayne State University. EXPERIENCE Dr. El-Eid is a breast surgeon at Comprehensive Cancer Centers where she treats patients with cancer and non-cancer related diseases of the breast and has served as principal investigator for several clinical research trials. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the Breast Care Center and co-chair and co-moderator of the Breast Tumor Board at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center and is a cancer liaison physician for its cancer program. She currently serves as secretary for the Nevada Oncology Society. Dr. El-Eid is passionate about mentoring the future generation of medical professionals. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor of General Surgery at Touro University Nevada and Adjunct Professor at UNLV School of Medicine. She is also chairman of the Education Committee and has co-chaired the mini-internship program through the Community Health and Public Relations Committee. Additionally, she teaches residents through the Valley Health System’s Graduate Medical Education Program. Dr. El-Eid was a past board of trustees member and Past President of Clark County Medical Society. She also participates in its speaker’s bureau. She was invited by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) to review and publish clinical practice guidelines on surgical margins for breast-conserving surgery with whole-breast irradiation in stage I and II invasive breast cancer. The data was published by the Journal of Clinical Oncology in spring 2014.
