I sent my mother here because I wanted to support the community & promote a black owned business. I saw a five star review on YELP so I thought this place would be a reliable place to start bringing my cars (I have 4 ) & a place to refer my family (its BIG) & friends (a LOT) She sent my brother with her Dodge truck so he could take care of all the "man talk" with the owner Doug. She had brought the truck to another shop because the "check engine" light was on& they told her it was diagnosed as a cam shaft position sensor (They quoted her $600 to change out a sensor from the code that was coming up on the diagnostic computer) (R& R Automotive) My mom left that shop because my brother has the mechanical ability to change out a sensor located on the underside of the motor that can be changed out easily by someone getting their hands dirty & jacking up the truck to slide under the vehicle to gain access to the sensor, unplug it & replace it with the $50 new one. Of course my brother is lazy & doesnt like his hands dirty,,,but in the mean time my mom doesnt drive her truck because she is so afraid of damaging it because its running rough which is to be expected because her cam shaft position sensor is defective. My mom is a senior citizen & freaks tf out whenever she sees that check engine light & it has come on for things as minor as her gas cap not being tightened enough. My mom is a Navy Veteran & a nice old lady but I refuse to let her be taken advantage of. She rarely drives anywhere anymore because of her age, but she is ornery and refuses to give up her drivers license & her big pretty blue truck............so lets get back to DOUGS "Automotive" So my lazy brother has my moms truck Towed to Dougs Automotive (at MY request because Im Ms Gotta Support Black Business Advocate) He rides along with the tow truck driver because he doesnt trust my judgement with bringing my moms truck here in the first place. My moms truck starts up & drives just fine, mind you.......its just the damn check engine light that is causing her to tow the truck instead of driving it in. THIS IS THE REASON IM GIVING THIS PLACE 1 STAR EVEN THOUGH THEY DESERVE NONE !!!!!-------------My brother is there with my moms truck after AAA unhooks it& Mr Doug comes over, my brother gets in the truck& starts it up. My brother said it started & was running fine except for the "check engine light" No clanging no grinding, no smoking, no stopping just riding rough like my mom said it was. My brother figured they were going to have him pull the truck into the service bay& at least run a diagnostic to verify what was wrong with the damn truck (which we already knew anyway) My brother is getting impatient because he has taken 2 hours out of his "busy" day to tow the truck there and is waiting to see them do something before he leaves it there as he was having his girlfriend come to pick him up. My mom calls the shop number to find out whats the deal because my brothers phone is dead because he didnt bring his charger. Mom mom asked who she was talking to & was told it was Mr Doug.......My mom asked what was wrong with the truck and Mr Doug informs my mom "YOUR ENGINE IS BLOWN YOU NEED A NEW ONE" estimate $4000- $5000 for the repair& maybe less to get a rebuilt one. My brothers girlfriend gets there & my brother calls my momma back to say he is leaving the truck there & will be back to get it for her when she tells him what Mr Doug just told her. My brother goes like "WTF"???????? The man just LISTENED to my moms truck......no diagnostic.......not even checking under the hood......he just LISTENED to my moms RUNNING vehicle & tells my mom her engine is blown& she needs a new one? I guess based on the fact that a little old lady had it towed there even though the trucks runs they figure they could just tell her anything . This is EXACTLY what I DID NOT want to happen. If this is the way this "repair shop" conducts "business" it is no wonder black businesses floun
