DO NOT rent from this place unless you have truly hit rock bottom and you have no place to go! I think Skid Row has better accommodations than this place! The location is convenient, close to the University and major shopping centers , but that's about it.The resident managers and staff, which are ever-changing, are either intellectually disabled (I am trying to be PC) and/or need to be properly trained on how to work with the public. Furthermore, nothing ever works here and they have a serious pest control problem. Stay Away!

Don't do it. this place is horrible. They are slumlords with the sole intention of collecting rent and not fixing a thing that is broke. When you put in a maintenance request, be prepared to wait about a month for repairs. These units a full or roaches, they have holes in the walls, and use broken parts to fix whatever you complain about. Just don't do it. you would be better off living on the streets..

Good and bad. Great location, clean and quiet, next to University, safer than others in area. BUT is of poor constructions and can be a utility hog if apartment is in the "cinder block" building. Poor plumbing means sometimes nothing but cold water for weeks on end with no offer of solutions.

It's funny how there is only one other review for this community and the "review" basically says the same thing that the advertisement says, so I have to wonder if it is from someone who actually lived at the community or if it is from the property management company.... Anyways I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX TO ANYONE. Regardless of your budget stay somewhere else! I don't know where to begin so here is a summary of everything WRONG with the community:

(1) Roach infested

* Although they have an exterminator coming out on a regular basis my apartment,along with anyone I asked, had roaches. I have lived in Las Vegas most of my life and never had that problem before. I moved from the Southwest side of town to live close to campus since I am a student at UNLV. Moving here was definitely a big mistake.

(2) My apartment was dirty when the manager gave me the keys.

* Paid a "cleaning" fee although the apartment was dirty and I had to spend an entire day cleaning although it was supposed to be ready upon move in. In fact the manager told me that I could not move in when I actually wanted to because the apartment would not be ready.

(3) Dirty and old carpet

* Upon moving in the carpet was dirty AND it is old, so old that actual carpet fibers were coming out of the carpet--especially when I vacuumed it.

(4) Poor maintenance of the units

* I rented a studio apartment and it seems like everything it that could have been broken was broken! For example: the refrigerator door didn't stay closed, the oven on the stove did not work, one of the isle on the stove was broken, there was a leak under the kitchen sink, and the shower would not generate a constant stream of warm water.

* Another issue is the fact that there is only one maintenance man for the entire complex so when you do call the office to put in a work order it will take him a while to get around to fixing your problem, unless of course it is an emergency.

(5) Noise from planes flying over is extremely loud



OVERALL THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST APARTMENT I HAVE LIVED IN IN LAS VEGAS, NV AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE. IF YOU HAVE A CHOSE DEFINITELY MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE. TO BE HONEST COTTAGE GROVE ISN'T EVEN WORTH CONSIDERING, UNLESS YOU ARE ON A BUDGET AND REALLY DON'T HAVE MUCH OF AN OPTION, BUT EVEN THEN I WOULD MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!



THE ONLY REASON I GAVE THEM ONE STAR IS BECAUSE I COULDN'T GIVE THEM ZERO STARS -- SO MY HONEST REVIEW IS ZERO OUT OF FIVE STAR!!!

Small and quiet community, clean...next to the engineering building at UNLV, Walking distance to bus and shopping, laundry on site. Great little community.

I've lived here for 7 months and find that management is trying to create a sense of community with resident functions. Most of us appreciate it, there are some people that for some reason have lived here for a while but love to complain about it and make things up because they have far too much time on their hands. This is a good place to live especially for students.

I've lived at Cottage Grove far too long...The entire property is infested with cockroaches and bed bugs.The promise of free internet is a lie, it barely works at all.The management is never around for any repairs, or they lie to you about if,when and why it is taking soooo long.Do yourself a big favor.STAY AWAY!! You would be better off living in a dumpster..They are trying to sell the property, so noone cares AT ALL !!!
