If I could give this school zero Stars, I would. The management staff are extremely rude and so is the executive pastoral staff. I caught them red-handed stealing money from my child and through lots of hard work of my own, they ended up giving the money back to my child. Not to mention the staff in the front office are very two-faced. They claim that they are Christians but yet the things they do are not Christian like. They don't even follow their own mission statement. Through months and months of ongoing conversations, they will not release any records of my child to me. This is the worst school I have ever sent my child to and in my lifetime of schooling, have ever attended. Do not send your kids here and at least do your research before you do.

My experience with Cornerstone was abismal. The director of the preschool is basically nothing more than a pageant queen looking for everyone that crosses her path to kiss her tiara. The principal of the elementary should have been retired a very long time ago - often can't put a complete sentence together.
They raise the tuition every year, yet offer NOTHING more. The pastors drive VERY nice cars, yet put nothing into the school. The teachers are barely paid minimum wage, and well, you know what you get for that.

They do have a commercial kitchen on-site which sounds really great, but the food that comes out of there is terrible and most definitely NOT healthy.

They use and abuse parent volunteers. It doesn't seem to matter how many volunteer hours you give, they want more and then give absolutely nothing in return.

The staff is a gossip circle, spending most of their days talking behind each others backs and the backs of the teachers and even the parents. They will all tell you how very "into" their Christianity they are. But the constant gossip-fest that goes on there speaks a very different tune.

One of the selling points they tout in trying to get new students enrolled is that they have a very advanced curriculum, which in my experience is true. But what they neglect to tell you is that this only remains true for preschool thru 2nd grade. After that it quickly levels off and is no longer advanced. When I inquired as to why we are putting so much pressure on the kids when they were so young if we aren't going to keep up with it, the answer I received (straight from the mouth of the preschool director, Mrs Kaye) is: "I don't know - nobody knows really"!!!!!???

In addition, the school is very lacking in extracurricular activities. The few sports/activities they have are mostly headed by parent volunteers rather than trained professionals. Pretty sad, especially in light of the high cost of tuition here.

Even their uniform code continues to degrade. When we started there it was very nice, but now they wear t-shirts once a week and can pretty much wear whatever they want for shoes. Not what you want from a private chrisitian school!

In this parents opinion: stay as far from this school as you can get.

Our child is in fourth grade at CornerStone and has been going there since pre-school. We are so happy with the education she is receiving in such a loving, Christian environment! Everyone - teachers, aides, office staff, pastors - are always helpful and available if you have a question or concern. If you are looking for a place that is warm, safe, and loving, that develops a child's spiritual character as well as the academic mind, CornerStone Christian Academy is the right school for you!

We have our children at Cornerstone Christian Academy & Tykes Preschool. We have one in the preschool program and one in 1st grade. We have been part of the Cornerstone family for 2 years now & we have been incredibly impressed with the passion & character the leadership and staff have for the kids! They are constantly striving to make the school an advanced & amazing place for our kids to grow in their education & spirituality! I am very proud to be part of this school and I look forward to watching my children continue to grow & flourish from the leadership, character & caliber of the teachers, staff & leaders.
As I read the recent post that gave Cornerstone one star knowing the school like I do it sounds like there is much more to the story than what has been posted- they would not have taken such extreme measures unless there was a significant repeated delinquency. In order to pay the teachers that teach our children they have to collect tuition- needing to take measures to protect that is certainly not an abuse of a nonprofit organization nor does it show a lack of Christian character- that behavior is consistent with any business that is counted on to pay salaries & keep the lights on.

Pre-K and Kindergarten

Our experience with this school over the past two years has been limited to the Pre-K and Kindergarten. We choose the Pre-K for price and Christian teachings, but we stayed because of the wonderful, dedicated and loving staff-- and the opportunity for full-time Kindergarten without the public school lottery. The Preschool is just awesome, I don't know what to say other than you have to experience it for yourself! There is a well-rounded structured curriculm that allows for plenty of fun and play while still getting the children well prepared for a demanding Kindergarten experience. My Kindergartener is doing 1st and some 2nd grade work no question... and doing it with ease. My Preschooler doesn't want anyone to know she is smart, but could easily surpass most any public school kindergartener in academic and (the equally important) social skills of interaction with others. My children are teaching me bible stories and drilling me on math questions in the car...it is very amusing a
