went here a few days ago after my dog Loki, had broken one of her nails and it looked really painful. I called prior to coming in because we haven't seen a vet in Vegas(besides the vet at Nellis) and wanted to check out our options. I was told over the phone that the cost would be $15 and felt like that was very reasonable. The lady at the front desk reiterated that the cost would b $15 and unless the vet needed to do anything else but stated I would be notified if that was the case. They also offered us a military discount which I thought was really nice. However, when they finished with my dog they presented me with an invoice for $75.00. The vet who spoke really bad English told me that the lady had misquoted me wrong and forgot to add an exam fee. I asked the vet about my dog's foot and asked her how long she should stay off it and she told me my dog would be fine. I asked her again because I take my dogs on runs and would like to know how long we should avoid running and she said something along the lines of " Your dog should be good. Just avoid running on rocks and hard surfaces." We live in Las Vegas....it's kind of hard to run on anything that isn't a hard surface.

When I finally was done visiting with the vet about my dog and went to pay, the bill had jumped up to $97.00 but they took off $10 as a military discount. I should have spoke up about how displeased I was but it's really not in my nature. I feel like this place ripped me off and would advise others not to go here.

They saved our dog when 2 other vets wanted to upsell, give unnecessary treatments and diagnostics and Dr. Herr at Blue Diamond Animal Hospital was clearly full of integrity, compassion and competence which showed far above the other two vets (one, of them being our original vet). We owe so much to these people! My dog was swiftly diagnosed by listening to all of her symptoms, doing one test upon Dr. Herr's suspected assessment and his suspicion was supported by the single test he performed. We were asked by another vet to pay $1722 for one day of diagnostics that ran from neurology to bloodwork and everything in-between as opposed to Dr. Herr's single test and medication that resulted in a reasonable and affordable bill!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Dr. Herr and Staff! Cookie Monsa Mason is a dog again and owes you her life! (if not some scrumptious cookies)

Cookie has Addison's Disease, and the treatment is a shot once a month. Her adrenal gland wasn't working and would have caused kidney failure if we hadn't caught it in time. The shot she will get once a month is affordable and will keep her healthy the rest of her life! GOD BLESS Blue Diamond Animal Hospital abundantly for putting integrity and compassion at the top of their treatment list!

Took our dog there because of a bad heat-she was also limping and acting funny-they told us this could happen as dog ages and she should be spade-but it would be expensive while she was still in heat. Week later she was acting really bad, bloated abdomen, vomiting-we again called and they said the vet was double booked and we could take her in if we thought she was bad but otherwise could wait till the morning. Next day was diagnosed with pyromethra-syptoms of which were all clearly given to the person who answered the phone- and which is a life threatening bacterial infection. This information should have been forwarded to the vet immediately. We did not know much about the infection and should have been informed immediately when syptoms were given to the doctors office as they are VERY obvious to a trained vet. Our dog passed away as a result of this negligence. This is the same kind of thing that goes on with human doctors-over booking and relying on receptionists to diagnose whether a situation is life threatening. I have never seen this at a vet's office. Unless you are just having routine shots done-would not trust these guys with my animals again.
