Very very expensive

I went in to get a regular oil and lube, as I had recently purchased a coupon card which allowed for a free oil change. Turns out that I have a car that needs a special kind of oil- so my free oil change turned into $49 bucks. When they did their free break inspection- I was informed that my breaks were dangerously bad, and could go out at any moment, that my car is un-drivable. Then told me who ever put my breaks on last, did them very wrong (thanks- the now out of business and bankrupt Break Team). They told me it would cost $1200 bucks to repair the damaged that the other company caused. I nearly cried, as I did not have that kind of money for this, they were able to get me financed though a BigOTires credit card where I will make many payments to pay off this ordeal. Who would have thought that a simple oil change would cost so much? I wish I knew more about cars, but sadly I do not. I hate taking my car in for a routine oil change.
