AGS TJE BEST

If your thinking about going to truck driving school AGS is the best. Having completed and getting my CDL I have to say that it was everything I hoped to learn and most importantly learning the safety of truck driving can help you more than just getting behind the wheel. Sarge's class room studying is far more than one would expect, because anyone can read a DMV manual and still not know nothing. The one on one behind the wheel training that Dale puts a person through, you'd never think driving could wear you out so much. But after all is completed you'll be more than happy to know you just leaned from the BEST. Thanks AGS!!

Great training!

If you are looking to get CDL training I would highly recommend AGS. It's a great experience with one on one training in the tractor/ trailer. If you follow your instructors advice you will quickly and competently maneuver your way into driving and backing a semi tractor and trailer. Sarge and Dale are great instructors with a lot of patience! If you listen to them you can't fail! Don't get me wrong this is just the first step in driving for a career! I don't think you could find a better place or group to learn from. Their training also cost at least half of other schools in the area and you don't' share your time in the truck with three or four other students.Curt P

Best CDL training in Vegas PERIOD!

I just completed my training at AGS and let me start off by saying thank you. I never thought obtaining my CDL could be this simple and less expensive than other schools that don't even offer as good or equivalent training. The instruction Sarge and Dale provided was top notch. The one on one training offered by AGS made the world of a difference. I went into the school with some driving experience but was never instructed on how to safe and properly drive a tractor trailer or inspect it. Without AGS obtaining my CDL would of been close to impossible, not to mention it took less than half as long as any other school to be able to pass the tests and get my CDL! I can finally start my career in the field I've always wanted! Thanks again I will definitely recommend your school to anyone trying to get a CDL!

The only thing I can say is Thank You!!!!

I worked for a company that had tractor trailers and could have learned to drive them for free. Fortunately I never had the time to do that and I no longer work for the company. I went to another school my friend had graduated from but came to find out that you have to do 6 weeks with another company before I actually get my license. If you don't complete the 6 weeks it is a heavy fine and I am still unsure if you get your license. Anyway that doesn't matter if you look back in this review I said Fortunately I never had time to train at my old job. I say that cause the knowledge and heavy emphasis they place on safety is second to none. I would have never received the knowledge that I did training at my old job. Sarge is a personable man. He works with you no matter how difficult of a person you might be. He will tell you that he doesn't do it for the money he does it for the love of driving and it shows. Von unfortunately had some other issues outside of training and couldn't train us but I have also heard great things about him. Dale is one of the other instructors and has great knowledge of life on the road. They pull no punches and will tell you things you would never know about certain companies. These men have been around and know the ins and outs of life out there on the road. I can't stress more about the knowledge and safety I received from this school. Sarge gets you ready for passing the DMV test to receive your permit. I never felt more prepared for a test then when I walked into the DMV. It was like he gave us the answers, which he didn't, but it was one of the shortest times at the DMV I had in recent years. Pre-trip inspection was hard for me when I did my class B on my own. Sarge gets you ready for it like a pro. I took that test with confidence and walked right through it. Yes he will not let you advance to the next phase if you do not pass. As I said before I have never felt so confident taking test before in my life like I did for every test he put in front of us. A student was having a difficult time passing certain test in the group before us and Sarge took time out of his day to help her out so she could get her license even after a full day of training us. I knew I would pass his test but also felt comfortable that if for some reason I didn't he would make sure I understood what I was doing wrong and take extra time to help me if I needed it. Good luck to everyone that reads this review and doesn't go to this school because you are missing out. Sarge thank you for everything.

Cdl training

This school was the best. Sarge and Von were great. They truly care about the field. Their professionalism shows. They taught me so much. I feel that all trucking companies should follow their lead. They strongly express how important it is to drive safely. We can really hurt someone on the road if we are not paying attention. That means a lot to me. I would recommend this school to everyone. Thank you Sarge and Von.

Money well spent!

I successfully completed my Class A course April 2013. I moved out of state shortly after that and found a job in July. Sarge's voice rings loud and clear in my head to this day...."stop and think", "think about what you're doing", "watch your tires", "don't be a cowboy" and many many more. Things I've learned in his course has prevented me from getting into accidents. I took his class frankly because it was the cheapest available. I was out of work and I used all the money I had to take this course. Hind sight it was money well spent. You never really know how much you learn until you get out there in the "real world".My family and I are in a better financial place and I owe a lot of that to Sarge and Von

CDL Training

At age 59 I decided to start a new career. Look no further for comprehensive 1 on 1 CDL training. I explained they would have to show me how to get in an out of that rig much less show me how to drive it. From the classroom to behind the wheel I was able to finish training while working part time. There patience only allowing you to go forward to the next level of training until you were ready made the difference. You will leave there CDL training with the confidence you need to enter your chosen career.

my positive experience at AGS CONSULTANTS

First off a brief history,i had a class a license 12 yrs ago,i had to surrender it 8 yrs ago ,due to a medical reason, since resolved .I needed to be recertified and interviewed at EVERY truck school in las vegas.after completing the course at AGS,i know I chose the right school. 1st,the classes are small 2-4 students at a time.the small size ensured individual attention. The behind the wheel driving training is one on one-just you and the trainer, for as much as several hours a day.years ago ,at the 1st school I trained at,i spent 3/4 of the in the truck time watching other students drive from my seat in the sleeper. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW IMPORTANT THE EXTRA TIME IN THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS. 2nd reason, the instructors, are "BEEN THERE ,DONE THAT" kind of guys, having had a license before,i developed some bad driving habits. Sarge took care of that right away,as well as bringing me up to speed on refreshing my driving skills, that to put it mildly were rusty.. 3rd the cost was not overpriced,i wont mention any schools in town,i will leave it to you to check that out.To sum it up, the course is not easy, but if you put some effort into it,that effort will be matched by Sarge and the rest of his team ,to make you the best you can be.This is a small school, you WILL be trained by THE OWNER,at times. The owner CARES how you reflect your training.i can honestly recommend AGS consultants as a wise choice for getting a class a or class b cdl,or as in my case ,obtaining mine after a number of years out of the drivers seat. Out of 5 stars I would give it a 5...Charles S 7-15-2013

If Your a Woman and want a CDL call Sarge!

As a woman I was a little intimidated by choosing to obtain my CDL and drive a tractor & trailer. With my boyfriend already being a driver it seemed like the right choice! When we first contacted the school we spoke with Sarge (who we later found out is the owner.) He gave us all of the information we needed in order to get me started! After my first day in class I knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park. But that was PERFECT for me. The approach that Sarge & Von used, one on one teaching & training was very beneficial. I left this course knowing I could drive a tractor& trailer. Not just technically but safely and confidently! I am more than greatful for Sarge and Von and what they taught me in this course! If you are considering CDL training this is where you need to go! If you are a woman and a little reluctant they will show you that you are capable! They won't hold your hand a do it for you but, they will teach you not only what the "book" says you need to know but what you WILL need to know! And that's extremely important! Thank You Sarge and Von I know I couldn't have obtained my CDL anywhere else and completed training with the confidence I felt when I competed my training with you!

What can I say

What can be said by me that hasn't already been mentioned? My experience at AGS Consultants involved getting quality training and behind the wheel experience. Sarge's classroom training and pre-trip inspection training had no more than 2 students. The backing range and behind the wheel driving instruction was strictly one on one instruction for me. I'm sure I gave Dale a few new gray hairs, but he was very knowledgeable and firm instructor and yet patient and kept us both on a safe progression. I would recommend this CDL training school to anyone out there that has a desire to earn their CDL.

Would not allow me to fail

It has taken me some time to come up with words that would adequately describe the high quality of instruction that I received at AGS. The entire program from the in class training, to the field driving and skills instruction is thorough and well designed with the goal of making sure that each student will be able to pass. I did very well on the written and testing portions of the training but was very intimidated when it came time to drive the truck on the road. Even after extensive road training in a controlled environment with absolutely minimal traffic I was still intimidated when it came time to drive in real traffic. After the first day, in the interest of public safety, and my own, I was ready to take myself out of the program. I called and left a message letting them know that this was just not for me. I soon received calls from both my instructor Von and the owner Sarge, admonishing me to stay the course. Their determination and dedication to work with me for “As long as it takes” impressed me to no end. Sarge said that “If I didn’t quit on him, he would NOT quit on me. Sarge took it on himself to personally train me. I over came my fears and I graduated. You will NOT find a better school that takes a deeper truer interest in the success of their students!

Excellent School

I recently completed my CDL training at this school. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wishes to obtain a CDL. I had two instructors (Sarge and Dale) that made sure I was retained the skills and knowledge needed to be SAFE while on the road. Both were adamant in making sure their graduates would be smart and safe drivers on the road. This school is for anyone who is willing and able. It could be a walk in the park as long as you pay attention and take the initiative to study the material.

Awesome 1 on 1

The thing that I enjoyed most about my training with AGS was that the instructors(Sarge,Vonn, and Dale) were there to make sure that I was safe and proficient. They are all very knowledgeable in all aspects of commercial driving. I would recommend this training to all that are working to get their CDL's.

Definitely the right choice!

Glad I chose AGS to get my Class A. The 1 on 1 training makes it the best choice for Class A schooling. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and are there to help you become a real professional driver.

MY experience At AGS

My overall experience was a great school choice for me. All the employees especially the instructors at AGS were AWESOME!! My instructor was Dale and he was a very patient, calm and helpful man. I appreciate all his help in preparing me for the permit and driving test. I also want to thank Ted in assisting me and going out of his way to place me into the driving course. I recommend all students looking to get a truck driving career to head to AGS. :) Thanks again everyone!

off unemployment

I would like to take a moment to share with you my personal expierence with Sarge and AGS counsultants truck driving school.First and foremost I am proud to say I am no longer unemployed and loving my new career.Prior to making my life changing decision to be a professional driver I was in the construction field for 15 years.Unemployed without benefits for the last 8 mos.Life was becoming a huge struggle. After meeting with and talking indepth to three different truck driving schools in the vegas area,I made the decission to have Sarge and his team change the direction my life would be going.offering financial assisiance through gov't programs was critical for me,AGS was able to make that happen.Personally I am the type of person that works and learns better in a smaller forum more one on one than 30 on one.In the classroom I felt at ease learning from someone who has been in the driving industry for so long to teach me ,not only the fundamentals I would need to suceed as a driver but also someone who takes the time to answer questions and explain some of his own driving expierences and how they could benefit me in the real world.Sarge did just that. When it came time for the driving instruction I feel I was taught by the best driving instructors out there.Nervous ...Hell ya ,rushed ..not at all. They took the time I needed to feel comfortable, confident and in control.Sarge and the AGS team along with my own motivation fueled by wanting a change in my life was the best decision I could have made for myself,my family and my future.Currently I'm employeed in Austin tx. With my CDL im not limited anymore in my employment areas. This is gonna be a great ride! Thanks for All you've done Sarge you,re truly Appreciated!!

CDL Training Program is Second to None

I am a recent graduate of the CDL Truck Driving School, operated by AGS Consultants in Las Vegas (Henderson), Nevada. I had virtually no experience driving a large over-the-road truck. After conducting an extensive search of schools in Nevada I decided upon AGS for two primary reasons. The opportunity to learn in one-on-one training situations, and the promise to actually teach me, not only how to drive a truck, but how to pass the knowledge tests, and skills tests required by the Nevada DMV.I was more than a little nervous about the whole program, but I can assure you that upon meeting with Sarge and beginning the classroom (book) part of the training I began to see just how experienced and knowledgeable he really is. He constantly emphasizes safety, but helps you gain confidence quickly without you actually even realizing it.I passed all the knowledge tests the first time and although I put in a lot of study, the tips I received from Sarge improved my chances a lot.Next I went out learn how to drive. My first instructor was Dale. Dale is a quiet and patient man who guided me through learning how to start, shift, turn and stop the truck with ease. It did not all just happen at once, but Dale kept after me and broke down the skills required into understandable parts so I quickly could correct the mistakes I was making. I could hardly believe my own progress. As I grew to know Dale better I was able to see his commitment to my success. Did he make corrections when needed? Yes, of course. Did he sometimes “get on my case” about making the same mistake over and over. You bet, but deep down, Dale is a great guy and once you realize that, you see through the bluster and learn how to do it very quickly. I would not have succeeded as quickly as I did had it not been for his keen eye for the little things that mess you up when driving. Thank you Dale. I learned how to backup the tractor and trailer from Von. Von is a great instructor and he really knows his stuff. If you don’t believe me just let him show you how easy it is. He is in a word, unbelievable. Von can park a trailer on the head of a pin if needed. He will teach you how to backup your truck and trailer. Von still has some drill sergeant left in him from his days in the Air Force, but don’t let that get in the way. He is good. He knows what he is doing, and if you can find a way to listen to his instructions you will succeed. I’m living proof. I knew nothing about backing a truck and although my skills do not hold a candle to Von’s, they are a heck of a lot better than when I first began the school. The final test on everything is given by Sarge. They don’t call him Sarge for nothing. But, don’t worry. His attention to detail (mistakes) is not intended to fail you. It is his way of insuring that you have thoroughly mastered all the required skills to be a successful and safe truck driver. If remedial training is called for Sarge will see it and make it happen.I will never say the training program is easy, because it is not. If you are sincere about getting a Class A license, however, this school is your best choice to help you get it. The feeling of pride I had the day I graduated is hard to describe. The feeling of relief was pretty good too. These guys want us to succeed. They work you hard and test you hard to insure you do. At the end everyone is smiling because everyone wins. Best of luck to anyone who decides to learn truck driving from AGS Consultants. I firmly believe I made the right choice for me.

The training at AGS was awsome the amount of time spent actually driving. Sarge Von Dale & Cory make sure you know what your doing before you go on to another part of your training. They get you ready to be hired ! ( not trained ) an absolute bargain for the money. THANKS
