Provided by YP.comFun place to play soccer as long as you don’t play against the owner’s team (Force), which apparently does not welcome serious competition. It seems like if there’s a chance the “house team” might lose, the calls are one-sided in favor of the owner’s team, which has a reputation for rough play. Recently, one of the house team coaches walked onto the pitch during a game and was heard threatening the undefeated challenging team’s coach by yelling “I’ll break your f***ing legs” among other things. As a parent of a 12-year-old, I think this language is terribly inappropriate for a family setting. Following that tirade, the challenging team withdrew from the league out of obvious concern for player safety. (Interestingly enough, this same coach used to coach for the local school district at which he is employed. I wonder if his offensive language and inability to control his temper have anything to do with why he no longer coaches at the high school level.) The players, 11-13-year-old girls from both Lancaster and York Counties, many of whom where playing together as a team for the first time, where saddened and disappointed by their experience at Red Rose. If your looking for a more family-friendly atmosphere, better competition and impartial officiating, Lanco Field House is a safer bet--and better for skill building since there are no walls to play off of. If you do play at Red Rose and have to play the house team, my advice would be to have your video camera/cell phone ready if your team has a chance of winning, as it’s much easier for the police to sort things out when it’s recorded.
