On Friday the 16th 2010 I dropped my mower off to get repaired. I spoke with the owner and and I explained the problem. He stated that it sounds like the carb. I asked him how much is that? He told me about $40 but a lot of times he can just clean it out. I told him well I didn't want to go over $100. He said well with his labor rate of $48 an hour I should be ok if that is what is wrong. I told him if it is more that $100 to call me. He said you can go upfront here and my wife will get your info. I went upfront and gave his wife my info. As I left I told the owner a third time to call me if it is going to be more than $100. He said No Problem.

Monday I get a call saying my mower is done and that I can come pick it up. I asked how much was the repairs. She said $194.00. After catching my breath I asked why they didn't call and tell me it was more than $100. She said she knew nothing about calling me. I explained I told your husband three times to call me if the repairs was going to be more than $100. She said he is hard of hearing and probably didn't hear you. I told her I did NOT authorize a $194.00 repair. She said well it is fixed and she hung up on me.

I went to the place of business and I asked what they could do with the price trying to meet them half way or something. She said there is nothing they could do. I again explained I did Not authorize this. I said most repair shops find out the problem and then call you to get the ok to do the repairs. She said next time they would call. I explained there would Not be a next time. I also told her I have been a business owner since 1998 and I would Never treat a customer like this. She answered that they have been in business since 1974. I said well then you should know how to treat customers. I told her I was very unhappy and that I would be contacting the BBB. She said well you are just one person so we don't care. I said I might be one person but word of mouth spreads fast.

They got my money this time but they will Never get my money again.
