I often went to Toyota off Route 2 in Lancaster to purchase parts for my Toyota vehicles and also have service done there as well. I own several Toyota vehicles. Today I ran across an overweight, older cashier in the sales area (I didn't see her name tag and so I don't know her name.) I never saw her there before. Cashiers there are usually younger women. I first met a salesman after ringing the bell and he got me two gallons of unmixed coolant (Toyota long life coolant for my Tundra) and answered some of the technical questions about the difference between 50/50 mixed and unmixed. He was helpful advising me about reading the instructions on the back of the container for mixing and then assigned me to the older woman cashier for me to pay. The price has gone up quite a bit since I last purchased coolant there, as I noticed that on the receipt at around $80 plus tax for two gallons of coolant, and I said, "Wow, it has really gone up." Her reply was, "Whatever." She answered that was like she did not want my business.....very dismissing with her tone. Then I asked for bags for the containers because I did not want to walk out with merchandise that were not bagged, and also I did not know who had handled the containers previously given the ongoing pandemic; then she grudgingly got up and went to the back to get two bags. She appeared to me like she did not want to do it. I was about to walk out without making the purchase if she did not give me bags as requested. Her demeanor and interaction with me was like I was there begging for her stuff and as if she did not want my business. She showed an attitude and appeared rude and not receptive. Customer service wasn't there today with her. My question for Toyota there, is there new management and this is the new norm of business, or is my expectation for cordial and professional customer service is too much? Do you want my business, and if you don't please let customers know so they would not get this kind of interaction?
