The one star is for terrible customer service. I echo the earlier reviewers who say the workers here, particularly the owner, have an attitude of arrogance and carelessness toward their customers. I have purchased nearly two complete sets of high end kitchen appliances from them. Despite that, when I called for service on their dishwasher, they basically told me they weren't interested in coming out and to buy some defoaming agent to throw in. When I had a refrigerator problem a few days later and called for service, the repairman didn't show for the time window they gave me and I received no call or information from anyone as to what happened. I had made special arrangements and rearranged my schedule to be home during that time. When I called to find out what happened, they gave no explanation and simply told me the window was now changed to four hours later. They promised this time he would be there and I explained the time crunch I was under but again rearranged my schedule to be there four hours later. When the repairman again didn't show as promised, I checked my phone and found a message from a few minutes earlier. I immediately called him back to find out that when I didn't immediately answer his call, he simply turned around and went back to the shop. I asked him to come back since he couldn't be more than five or ten minutes away. He refused. When I then called the owner, he chewed me out for not answering the call, told me the repairman had waited for me to call him beside the road before he left (which wasn't possible considering the long amount of time it takes to get from my house to return to the shop compared to the much shorter time that had passed between when the message was left for me and when I called the shop -- plus why do that instead of just come to my house five minutes away?), and basically said too bad for you. He also gave no explanation or apology for the no show for the earlier window, except to tell me they had to be at other places instead. He basically said I should have been available waiting for them the entire day after the first window so they could come anytime at their convenience. And if I somehow failed to immediately answer their one call that they were on their way, their policy was to drop the appointment and return to the shop with no call or notice to me.



The arrogant and paternalistic attitude of the owner as to appliance problems and service issues, having no concern or care for customers' schedules, and arguing with customers is the reason I do not recommend this shop.

Received right parts the first time

I had to replace the burners on our old Hotpoint (now GE) range and went to Lowe's only to be sold incompatible parts. After returning the burners to the box store, which didn't carry the correct ones, I went to Lakewood Appliance where the knowledgeable counterman sold me burners that could actually be installed.One of the burners was flawed (not flat, so the pans wobbled), but that was not the fault of LA. They exchanged for another part without any hassle.Bottom line: a little more expensive for factory original parts, but I could have saved some running around if I had gone to LA in the first place, which is more valuable to me than a slightly cheaper (in both senses of the word) part.

Great Place but let anone tell you differant...Long term consistant great service and prices

I have made several purchasesfrom tis local owned business. I havegotten my every need meet from service, moving, and great pruducts...You will not find a better place t buy or get repairs..I am grateful to find one place I can trust cause stuff goes down you never know what its gonna cost.,Thank You for great service

Very good service

I've had a dryer repaired by them twice, and a washer just today. I was very happy with the serviceman. He was considerate and professional, and since it was an easy fix, he got it done very quickly. He arrived around the time the company said he would. The price was much better than Sears, about half the price! I will use them again.

GE Kitchen Range Fix

I have been a customer of this business for 30 years. My 4 yr old GE Electric Range's Oven Coil burnt thru with flame! Not grease, but an insulation breakdown! Lucky no fire! Late in the day too! I called Lakewood Appliance & the part was in stock .They promised repairman w/ part next day. Repairman came, installed new part . (I blame GE for using inferior materials). Range had to be pulledout & he worked thru the back because GE makes the copper wires too short too install from front. It was a quick service & well done by a good & professional repairman. It's sad that a company like GE does not care about quality control anymore.

Disappointed for no return call

I phoned and spoke to Ron on Saturday, 3/24/12 asking for someone to come to our home to look at some appliances that were not working as a result of a power surge that came through our home (PSE issue). Ron was very helpful on the phone and seemed very knowledgeable. He informed me that he would speak with his service department and parts department regarding the appliances and would get back to me on Monday, 3/26. This seemed reasonable. However, Thursday, 3/29 comes around and I have yet to speak to Ron again. I called and left a message with someone else indicating I was going through another vendor and that I was disappointed I never got a call back. When you are without major applianeces (dryer, microwave, and oven) this is a big deal!

Outragous charges!

They charged me $80 to have them come out for 15 minutes and tell me my dryer was shot! I will never go to Lakewood Appliance gain, they stole my hard earned money and I got nothing in return...

GE warranty repair

He was not even willing to come out and look at my water heater because I wanted to use the manufacturers warranty to get the parts. Only if I bought my parts from him was he willing to come out. Why, when you have a covered warranty part would you want to pay extra ffor it? He would have still gotten the labor charges. Not very professional at all!
