I have lived in Hawthorn Woods for 7 years and pay a lot of money for taxes to live in a nice community. Several times a year, this company litters their advertisement on my driveway in a ziplock bag, their post card and a rock. I get that times are tough and everyone needs business, but I have owned a business since 2000 and if I want to advertise, I send my advertisement through thr USPS and pay for a friggen stamp!!! It's not fair or professional for people to come home and need to pick up garbage off of our driveway.

I have done business with Mr. Richie for over 15 years in Lake Zurich. He has installed numerous water softener equipment for me over the years for various properties.

The equipment is priced fairly and works well.

I would recommend getting a price from him if your in need of a water softener.

This business and its owner Rich Richie is definitely one to be avoided! They are scam artists out to sell you inferior products just so that they can overcharge on chemicals to be added to the products. They sold us an iron/sulfur filter in spring 2009 which required expensive potassium chemicals to be added supposedly every other month. Within six months, I had to pay for a service charge to clean the injector. Within another year and a half it needed a new feeder tube and required a service charge of $381.45. What I didn't know then was that the potassium was only supposed to be added every six months, not every two as Rich Richie told me. So, the extra potassium was clogging up the system. However, it was beneficial to Rich to sell me the extra potassium since he charged $56/bottle. In 2013 the system overflowed due to another malfunction and poured purple chemical all over my basement floor. It permanently stained the floor. At that point, I decided to get rid of it and replace it with something else since it never removed the sulfur smell from my water. I chose to use a new company for this. However, I still had 5 bottles of potassium left at a value of $290. Rich agreed to "sell" the extra bottles for me. Even though this is a product that he sold me and should have just refunded me the money, he apparently "sold" it to someone else for $20/bottle and offered to send me a check for $100 after the fact. I am still waiting for this supposed $100 check that is "in the mail". Avoid this company at all costs. I can't imagine all of the people that were swindled into buying this product, paying for all of the service calls, and paying exorbitant prices for the chemicals. They claim to provide a lifetime guarantee. Where were they when my unit failed to work for so long and spilled all over my floor?
