Complaint Type: Customer Service Issues

Problem:

I recently sold my condo in Beaverton. Throughout the interaction I was unimpressed and disappointed with the interactions and professionalism of the title company and the escrow officer. Communication was poor throughout the transaction. Since my space here is limited I will mention only the most egregious. Two weeks after closing, I received communication from my realtor that the title company had "forgotten" to collect a fee based on a previously agreed repair. Without any communication, apology, or explanation, I was just told to go ahead and send a check to the buyers. The reason we pay the title companies exorbitant fees is for their expertise,for their attention to detail especially in regard to fees and contracting. This error also put undue discomfort and awkwardness between myself and the buyer, who prior to this we have had no poor interactions with. Rather than except any responsibility for their error, it appeared the title company would rather put the buyer against the seller in regard to recouping the fees missed in their mistake. Again, at the time of filing this complaint, I received no attempt at communication from the title company via phone call or email. At minimum I expect an apology and exclamation, which has not been forthcoming, but at this point I also expect a refund of the fees I paid the title company to do a complete and professional job.
