Great lunch or dessert place, indeed!

I live nearby and THANK GOD I do! This place is usually busy and it's because it is a local treasure. In many years I can truly say I've never disappointed. Great homemade soup and sandwiches you'd make yourself if you wanted to spend the time and money for top ingredients. My kids love the cupcakes and the wife 'n me will splurge on the veggie brownies which I highly recommend. A great place inside the Third Place Books Bldg. Depending on time or day you can also enjoy local entertainment too...

Damn!!!

Basically the best bakery I have been to in Seattle. They make absolutely everything from scratch right there in the store. They have cute friendly competent employees. Some of the best sandwiches I have ever tasted (BLTA, Basil Roasted Chix) OH MY GOD, all made to order. Also they just started serving Cafe Umbria Coffee which is some of the best in town. This place has come a long way the past couple of years!! The only issue I can see is they're breakfast could use some work. also the seating is weird.
