Have bought two puppies from Doug that I dearly love and are in excellent health. They do excellent grooming and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a new grooming facility.

I have been taking my Bichon to Doug and Luann since they first opened here. In fact another groomer that I had always taken my dog to actually referred me to them because she was quitting and she knew them. My dog looks like a show dog each and every time I take her to them. And more importantly, she is so excited to see them when we go. She can't wait to get in the door there! Doug and Luann have given me so much great advice, from preventing tear stains to advising me on vet visits. my dog is almost 13 years old and I attribute a lot of her longevity to the advice and care she has received from Abarkus. They are the only ones I trust with my baby and I cant thank them enough for the care and love they give to her! And Luann gives my kitty a bath amd haircut twice a year also. The cat is also 12 years old and is as calm as can be when she gors to Abarkus. They are true professionals!!! Very thankful they are in Lake Charles!

Doug and Luann have been grooming all my pets for the last 8 years. They always do an awesome job. They are professional and knowledgeable about dogs. I have gotten the best pets from them.

Jackson the Goldendoodle was was an 7 month old puppy That had Never been groomed or EVEN Brushed , he was MATTED to the skin. WE EACH HAVE OVER 45 yrs experience of Grooming/Breeding and are Extremely caring and Knowledeable on Every Pet we take care of. Occasionaly a nick does occur on a pet. If this should happen it is immediately treated and the owner is informed on pick up. There was No Nicks on Jackson but he could of chewed a hot spot with having the Matted Coat removed which came off of Him in 1 Solid Pelt of hair

I love Doug and LouAnn! They are Certified Show Groomers and make my rescued Lhasa mix look like a show dog! I have been to many groomers and in my opinion they are the best in Lake Charles. They really love animals. By the way, not all home dog breeders are puppy mills! They may not live in a palace but I have never seen unsanitary conditions and they have told me that they are regularly inspected by Calcasieu Parish Animal Control, which I believe. I think it is nice to look out for the welfare of our furry friends, as I do by rescuing my pets instead of buying them. However, don't go overboard and try to destroy a legitimate business run by animal lovers just because you don't believe in backyard breeding or mixing breeds. Have a heart for humans as well as animals.
