Provided by YP.comMy Culligan water softner experience started off with 4 calls back and forth between myself and the receptionist. First I was told the salesman would be out first thing in the morning. I called when no one showed up and I was told a salesmen would be out in an hour - no one showed. I called again and then I was told late morning and nobody showed. The salesmen did finally call and apologized for the confusion and we set up a time. He did show up and I decided to buy a monthly contract. We set up a time for the installation. My main gripe is that I was completely ignorant to soft water and how it would affect my drinking water. I'e always enjoyed water out of the faucet. I was not told there was an option to install the system to work only on the hot water. I would have selected the hot water only option and was alittle upset to later find out this was a choice (never even mentioned it and when I asked him later why he didn't have an answer) and was told I'd have to pay another $100 for them to change this. I am also very frustrated at the lack of pamphlets, and information to provide me on the benefits of soft water and basic information such as how to adjust the soap you use for dishes, laundry and in the shower, what to expect etc.... I asked both the salesman and the man who installed the system. The install man did give me manual on the system that was very outdated but it didn't include any information I asked them about (how to adjust my soap for laundry, dishes etc....) There is quite a bit of stuff I've had to learn by researching it myself that I would expect a big name like Culligan to have not to mention professionalism was lacking considerably.

Provided by YP.comLow clarity around the contracts you are signing/what the actual monthly fee will be. Get in you with a good deal on the first month, and when the prices goes up after month one you have signed a one year contract and cant break it without a $100 termination fee. Bait ya, sign ya, then you've got no where to go. Not to mention snotty customer care representatives. Don't bother with them, buy yourself a Brita filter and save the hassel and money.

Provided by YP.comI had signed up for the premium package for the past 6 years (over $200/yr) with the only benefit was that they delivered salt. Supposedly, they would fix my unit if there was a problem, I'm sure at a cost, but fix it nonetheless.
I decided not to renew this year (thought it was year to year) and they told me I was past due and needed to pay the past couple months. For what???? I got no service, no salt, and rude people on the phone-- one who hung up on me after I relented and told them I would pay the past 2 months.
I will NOT use Culligan again.
