Ian Neel, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor who specializes in caring for older adults. He serves as the primary geriatric medicine consultant for https://health.ucsd.edu/specialties/psych/senior/Pages/default.aspx at UC San Diego Health. Dr. Neel completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine and a residency in internal medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree. He is board certified in internal medicine.In 2013, Dr. Neel received the Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award for an outstanding resident role model. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society. He is also an active alumni member of the San Diego chapter of the Mortar Board.Outside of work, Dr. Neel especially enjoys music.
