For my elderly mom's birthday, I ordered what looked to be a beautiful, professional arrangement and what I got was something that looks like it came from a grocery store. I asked for a partial, not total, refund to reflect the huge difference between what they'd advertised and what they delivered. They offered another arrangement, which would not work as my parents are in their 80s and don't need the hassle of waiting for another delivery and giving back the original arrangement. Why would a gift recipient have to be bothered this way? What they have on their web site is NOT what they deliver. I was also blamed for their lack of integrity and proper business practices, being told that "To make sure you get exactly what you want next time, please go ahead and write in the special instructions that you want the arrangement identical to the websites' image." Who in the world should have to do that to guarantee they get what they pay for?

The aroma that greets you as you step into Adelaide's Florists and Decorators, is enticing by itself. Combine this with their beautiful floral arrangements, and the rich array of home decorations they keep in store. Together these make this store extremely difficult to pass bye, for anyone who loves flowers.



Adelaide's is not only an enticing, warm and friendly store, it is also its own operation. In the back of the store there are in house designers who design and create their floral bouquets. They also specialize in events like weddings and have also decorated for the del mar fair. For these customers they have a separate store which allows customers to view different samples and ideas and also houses an amazingly life-like collection of silk flowers.



Adelaide's is part of the California Grower's Association, Designer AIFD ( American Institute of Floral Design) as well as the SAF (Society of american Florists). This floral and decorator's store was established in 1936 by the current owner's Grandfather. The owner is now Gina Phillips, who has taken it over from her father. Adelaide's is in it's 3rd generation within the same family. They pride themselves on being an independent business who provides service to the best of their ability, to produce a product you will love.



If there is something to be said go ahead and say it. My first impression was wow! It smells great in here! During the interview, I was amazed at the passion in Ms. Phillip's eyes for her business. My last impression was that she has done a wonderful job with this business. I was surprised that there was no bathroom. Quality of business is superb. Quality of people is excellent. Owner got started in business because her father owned it,

Interesting stories about their life is that the store started out on the side of a road. What do you like most about the business.... The atmosphere is welcoming as well as enticing.

I've been using Adelaide's Florists for the past five years to send flowers to relatives in the San Diego area. Every arrangement has been amazing and the staff has gone above and beyond to make sure the flowers and delivery were perfect!

Their flowers rock!!!! The arrgements are the most diffrent I have seen in a long time. I travel all over the world and always order flowers. When I am in La jolla I try to stop in Adelaides! The flower girls all rock, just like their flowers!
