Con artists, and inept technicians! BEWARE!!!

I purchased a pair of glasses at VW at a cost of $300.00, and they never got the Rx correct! After taking the glasses to Dr. Bizer's around a half dozen times to correct the lenses, I finally gave up and relied completely on my contact lenses. Turns out that my Rx is +5, and the glasses they gave me were a -3!

Fast forward to last week, I went to a competitor who gave me an eye exam and told me that I cannot use contact lenses for the next week or two. I tried to contact Dr. Bizer's Vision World about the issue again, and they refuse to do anything, other than allow me to pay almost $300,00 to put new lenses into the frames, plus charge me for another exam! The GM did say that she would take off 25%... very nice of her, since their chain competitor quoted me $40.00 to put whole new lenses into my existing frames!

Not Recomenned

I first went to Visionworks the beginning of March 2014. I waited, and waited some more while the person attending to me decided to take phone calls. I selected the frames I liked after being seen by the doctor. She, the doctor, was nice enough but I am not sure she is qualified. My glasses were ordered and promised in 7 to 10 days. I finally phoned them because it was well past delivery time. They told me they would return my call when my glasses arrived. About a week later I received the call. I was informed the frames I selected would not be large enough for the prisms I needed. I have worn glasses for years and always with prisms and always wore the style frames I liked. I was asked to come to the store, which I did and the manager had already picked out a pair frames for me, which I liked until I got my lenses in them two weeks later. I travel in my work and did not get back into the store to complain about my fit until after my 30 day guarantee had expired. Recently I began having problems with my eyes. I cannot read unless I hold my glasses very close to my eyes. I took them back to the store and asked for them to check on the computer and see if my prescription was right. Finally the man behind the counter brought my glasses back to me and said they were fine. I put them on and still had the same problem, I could not read his chart without a shadow behind the letters. I told him and he said it must be a medical problem, cleaned my lenses and sent me on my way. He had adjusted my frames and within a couple days I took them to the optical dept. in WalMart to get them readjusted. I am back to wearing my old glasses after spending over $400.00 for glasses that are of no benefit. I will never go to Vision Works again, I value my eyes too much for them to make me glasses. My advise to you is seek out a REAL optical doctor such as Park West vision on Kingston, Pike if you live in Knoxville...that is my next stop for all my vision care.

I can’t explain with mere wo...

I can’t explain with mere words how horrid the customer service is at Dr. Bitzers at West Town Mall. I was there with my child for about 3 hours. During this time they managed to misplace an elderly women’s paperwork (which left her waiting for an exceptionally long time). When she told them she felt like she should get a discount for her trouble they all but laughed in her face! A few minutes later another customer came in to pick up her contacts. Someone from Dr. Bitzers had left her a voicemail saying her order was ready. When she showed up they basically called her a liar and told her to come back in four days! The same employee later used a tone with me that I can only describe as abrasive. I then paid for the exam and walked out. I will say that a couple of the employees that work there are warm and friendly, sad that a few ruined the experience.

This place was awesome for us. My son broke his glasses and I took his prescription in that I already had a copy of and they had him on his way with a new pair of glasses in 2 hours.I was impressed.

These people can't remember where they keep their own paperwork. They lose documents & prescriptions. They lose your insurance cards, and they are indignant about demanding that you waste your time to accommodate their incompetence. The eye doctor has extremely bad breath. Other than that, it's an average mall vision center.
