I do not recommend this practice for back surgery. My surgery cleared up what I initially went in to TN Brain and Spine so the surgeon is skilled. However, I will not be going back for a second complication I’m having and feel others should avoid this practice. Everything except the surgery is handed to two nurse practitioners who treated me with insensitivity, didn’t ever ask how I was doing or make phone calls to see how I was recovering, were uninformative, seemed to not be in communication with the doctors or each other, and were incompetent in dealing with pain management. I had excruciating pain for 2 weeks because I was placed on the wrong medication which were also narcotics. I could go on and on about all the little and big things they did that made me feel terrible psychologically and physically. Above all, I feel the duration of pain and my recovery time could have been alleviated if they had made fewer mistakes and bad decisions with my care. Please at least meet the nurse practitioners before making a decision because you deal mostly with them when you get surgery.
