Howdy Ya’ll, We are so happy that you come by to visit us. Pa’ was just tellin’ me the other mornin’ over coffee that he sure wish we could get us some good neighbors. And here you are. Around here, if we git new neighbors we always have a wing ding of sorts, so ye’ can get acquainted with everybody. Now we don’t do no gossipin’ but I just wanted to warn ye’ bout’ old grump, that lives just over the next holler. He has them dang pigs and they stink I’m tellin’ ye’He claims he is givin’ all that ham to the poor folks around here, but I don’t believe him, cause’ he is one stingy so and so. Then we got old lady, Ethel. Like I said, we don’t behold to no gossip, but you being new around here, we want ye’ to know what ye’ might be up against. Anyway all she does is sit on that front porch and pretend to be sewin’ and the like. That just ain’t so, cause’ she watches all the cars up and down the road and is so nosey she wants to know where they are goin’ to and who they are visitin’. Anyway, we are glad ye’ moved in on our side of town. Sometimes they get a little wild over in town. They got them girly shows and stuff over there. Now that one gal is something else I tell ye’ Course now I don’t know much about em cause’ I don’t go there….well, o.k. maybe now and then, just to see who’s who, ye’ know. (whisper) Don’t go tellin’ I said so, but once I saw old man Schultz in there. Such a shame too, since he’s so old. He’ll be 98 years old come spring. He claims he just likes their coffee. Lol I saw him peaking around at them gals, and they sure don’t look like no coffee cup to me. Lol. Hope you will write us and tell us some about ya’ll. We are friendly folks and want to invite all of you to come by anytime, nite or day. We gonna’ keep this store open for business around the clock, so the time don’t matter. Gonna’ run for now and git Pa’ some beans and cornbread goin’ for his supper. We be lookin’ for ye’, so come on by. Your friends, Granny and Pa’ 1 Cor. 13 P.S, Don’t let it out that I told ye’ but I heard that preacher takes a nip now and then, say’s he’s got a cold. Only thang’ is, he’s had that same cold ever since he come here to preach almost three years ago.
