A lot of gossip goes on here. Teachers will talk behind your back, especially one in particular. The directors do not care about their staff and they will talk behind your back as well. They always make sure to smile to your face though. Totally unorganized. Stay away from this place!!

I wouldn't recommend Ebenezer Children's Academy simply because there are many other options available in the area that seem to really know what they're doing. Although the building looks newer, this place just seems behind the times on what's really important to parents: security, payment convenience and healthy food choices.

Security is an issue. The code to the entrance is rarely changed, and when it is the teachers print the code on little pieces of paper and leave them in the classrooms for anyone to pick up, so essentially everyone in town can end up with the code to the front door. There was rarely anyone near the entrance to check id or watch who was coming and going.

The front office staff doesn't seem to be very well versed in the laws and regulations that most experienced child care centers practice. The front office director is a bit unprofessional and seems inexperienced. There are a lot of very young, inexperienced staff members.

They do not have an online payment system, so you're forced to write a check every week. Our child was sent home with lice, something I wouldn't wish on anyone. The monthly menu included items made with raw eggs, mayo, peanuts and a lot of cheesy items so if you have allergy-prone children you'll be packing a lunch every day and still paying full tuition prices.

My son has been attending ECA for a year now. Five weeks ago,he broke his femur and was put in a spica cast. If you don't know what that is, look it up. It was a brutal and exhausting experience as a parent of such a young child ( he's 3.5). When I called to ask if if they would be able to still care for my son, the schools director Blainie said "we will not turn any child away." His teachers, Allison and Stacey, went above and beyond to make my son comfortable and were completely open and willing to learn with me what worked and what did not through this troubling time. I really don't know what I would have done without them and their support.
As far as their curriculum and education standards, they are the best in the area and I have had him in two other daycares close by. This is not a babysitting facility. I feel that they are well preparing my son for the local high ranking elementary schools, on top of genuinely caring for my son and his peers.
If you are looking for a local daycare and want your child in a secure, caring, and education minded environment that also implements foreign language and sports, definitely consider ECA.

I kept my daughter there for 3 weeks. Had to remove her because the teachers were so mean. One time when I spoke with one of the teachers, this child comes in and want to ask her a question...she started screeming at the child (4-5 years old) and telling him how rude he is. Oh my goodness gracious they don't understand it. Just be patient with them.
Give yourself a favor and find something that your child will love it!

Great experience (2 years), will be sending our second child there as well. We investigated multiple other facilities in the area prior to going with Ebenezer . The daycare is very clean, they have good policies for controlling illnesses, we've been pleased with the efficient response of management, and the teachers we have had have been wonderful with our child. I have never seen the code posted anywhere in the building, and multiple emails are sent out reminding parents to NEVER let anyone in without having them enter the code themselves (not even holding doors for other parents). I've even had a teacher question me when I picked my child up (we had not met before), to make sure that I was authorized to get him. The kids do all kinds of crafts and sign language learning, they have outside play every day (weather permitting), and I've seen no issues with the menu that they have for the kids (they do not allow any nut products).
