John's is simply the best. Not much to look at from the road, but cars lined up and people waiting is a good indicator of its popularity among those in the know.



While John's offers a wide array of subs and baskets, don't miss out on the dolphin fish sandwich or boat. Not Flipper dolphin, but dolphin fish (also called MahiMahi), the pieces are coated in a light tempura batter and then perfectly and lightly deep fried, leaving the fish moist and the outside crisp. Get it on a sandwich with ripe tomato slices, cheese and tartar sauce, or go for the boat with fries. This is a fish that even the most picky eater will probably love. Johns also makes a good burger for the meat lovers.

Don't leave without trying a specialty shake. These aren't airy DQ shakes, but true milkshakes made with whole milk and ice cream, with lots of fresh fruit and flavors to choose from. My favorite is the peach shake.
