Plumbing leak service

Service through my AHS claim. All Hours wasn't available from a Thursday call untill Monday, but then service was timely and good. Received text during scheduled time frame and plumber arrived shortly after. He was professional and with my permission to cut through dry wall found the leak and repaired it.

Redeemed Plumber with Improved Customer Service

Like most reviewers here, we were given All Hours Emergency Plumbers through our home warranty company. I called on a Tuesday afternoon after our water heater stopped producing hot water. The company was thorough and continued to provide phone updates, along with text messages, and emails. The plumber arrived later that evening, looked at our water heater and stated that it was 20 years old and that we needed a replacement. No problem. We did have to wait two days to get a new heater, which I was not happy about. We did have to pay $395.00 to cover the charges for replacing the plumbing to adapt to the newer heater. No problem here as well, because we know heaters changed in size over the past 20 years. The new heater was installed on Thursday evening and he told us to give it 1-1 1/2 hours for the water to heat.

Friday morning, no hot water. I also received the full voicemail box messages but got a live person around 8:10 AM. They placed a service call and a different plumber came out later that evening. Rick was great! He noticed that our heater was connected to a heater timer (installed by a previous owner) and we told him to just bypass that timer. Once he bypassed the timer, our heater was functioning and we had very hot water within 40 minutes.

Now, the first plumber should have caught this and I did not wish to review the first guy who came out. However, the customer service was still top-notch, as the company employees were courteous and efficient.

I do recommend Rick as the plumber. I believe this company is working hard to cover a wide area and it is possible that the home warranty company(ies) are over-using this company that may be small. Regardless, we are pleased with the service we received and hope others receive satisfactory results. Our heater is better than it has ever been in the four years we have owned our home!

There is a reason that this company only has one star reviews...

If this is the company that you've been paired with through your home warranty company, then buckle up. It will not be a fun ride. My experience started off with a leaking hot water heater. Our claim was submitted on 02/13/2019. A call was received around 8am on 02/14/2019 from this company to schedule a tech to come out and diagnose our problem. A same day appointment was offered, but due to scheduling, the tech was scheduled to come out 02/15/2019. Our service window was 9am-12pm. We were warned that it would be closer to the end of the window. The tech showed up around 12:30pm. Within 15 minutes he determined a new water heater was needed. This is where the pleasantries our the experience ended.

The tech did not leave a business card or a claim/service number. He left no paperwork. He conveyed that a new water heater was needed and someone would call to go over the specific as there would be $495 in uncovered charges. I.E. charges that the warranty company wouldn't cover. The weekend came and went. I certainly did not expect to hear anything over the weekend. Monday came and went. Finally on 02/19/2019, I called the warranty company to see where things were at as I hadn't gotten any phone calls. The warranty company advised that the replacement had been authorized. The warranty company added a note for the plumber to reach out to me so that we could get the replacement service call scheduled. No phone call was received.

By 02/21/2019 I tried to call the plumbing company. No answer. The hold music was endless. I hung up and called back a few times. I finally got an operator that put me on an indefinite hold. Finally, I resorted to serial dialing. I finally got through. The operator told me there were no notes on my file and that she would have to call the plumber for more information. I was assured that I'd receive a call back. No surprise. No call back.

The following day, 02/22/2019, I waited until after lunch and tried calling again. I spoke with a supervisor who informed me that the replacement water heater hadn't even been ordered yet! I was told that I had to pay the uncovered charges of $495 upfront before the new unit would even be ordered. Apparently, the tech was supposed to have gone over all that. I of course have no documentation. The uncovered charges haven't even been explained to me. On a side note, I found the charges to be quite high. I refused to pay the charges until I had some sort of documentation. I further refused to pay in full until the replacement was complete. I offered to pay half of front and the remaining balance upon completion. At this point, I was afraid the company would take my money and not complete the service.

The supervisor took down my e-mail address to send me the requested documentation about the uncovered charges and assured me that the plumber would call to confirm that the replacement hot water heater had been ordered. I'm sure you can guess where this is going. No e-mail received. No call received.

I called the warranty company and asked for a different plumber. They advised that they couldn't offer another company. I explained my issues with the plumbing company of their choosing and advised that I no longer wished to work with them. I further reiterated that the actions of the plumbing company looked very poorly on behalf of the home warranty. I filed a formal complaint and the home warranty company offered to "cash out." This means that they will pay me what they would have paid the plumbing company. The only catch is I have to hire a licensed professional and submit the completed invoice, before they will send the check. At least I can research the company I CHOOSE and feel assured of reputable timely work. I'm certain that ...

No Emergency with these guys

appointment was between 8-12 and they show up at 1:45. Offer to reschedule but I told them why would I want to waste another full day for you to be late again. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Also waited for the rude lady on the phone for over 20 minutes to get no where with her.

Horrible phone skis

Home warranty company set us up with All Hours Emergency Plumbing. Their idea of emergency is much different than mine. I spoke to Erica on Monday who said my appt was Tuesday 0800-1200 but that they were shorthanded so it eould most likely be late morning to early afternoon and that the tech would call me aprox 30 minutes before arriving. Around noon I still had not heard a thing so called. This time Erica told me the appt was noon to 5. Huh? She then told me I was 2nd on the afternoon list so probably around 2 or 3. 3 comes and no calls. I call back and got another woman who would not giver her name. I was told this time I was 3rd on the afternoon list. I wait some more. I think it was about 4:30 ish when I got a call stating tech would be here right around 5. 5:15...no one. I try to call and get no answer. I call my warranty place who was also no help. About 5:25 I get a call stating tech was 1 hour 10 minutes out at 5 pm. Caller wants me to pay up front over the phone. I ask who can I call if the tech does not arrive. He told me to call back in the morning but I can go ahead and get the payment out of the way. I said I'll wait for the tech. Thankfully the tech did show up and did a great job. This companie's only saving grace was how he treated me when he arrived. The people working their phones should not be in customer service. Would NOT recommend this business to anyone.

So long as its not after 5PM

"All Hours", so long as those hours are not after 5PM. Voicemail is full and no rollover line. What the heck?

Get Someone Else!!

My warranty company directed me to All Hours Plumbing. I live in Jacksonville, and I am assuming that they prefer not to make our area a priority. Had to wait five days for an appointment to snake my blocked kitchen pipes, which made my sinks, dishwasher, and washing machine unusable. On the day they were to arrive, they said their tech got hurt and I would have to wait five more days!! They were not particularly understanding and did not make any effort to put me at the top of the list. I will insist my warranty company send me someone else next time!

12/17/2018

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. THEY SUCK!

Very upset with company. They sent employee to my house to snake pipes, who told me pipes didn't need to be snaked and that septic tank needed to be pumped out. All Hours Emergency doesn't pump septic tanks, so I called another company and 2 workers came to house, inspected septic tank and told me it wasn't half full/below level for pumping out. They then snaked pipes and removed clog. I paid both plumbers/companies, which I don't think its fair to "double" pay when original plumber from All Hours did not do his job.
When I contacted All Hours. Emergency Plumbing about refund, I got the "run around". They told me to contact home warranty company, even though payment was to All Emergency. When I called home warranty company, they told me it was plumbing company's responsibility to issue refund. Neither company would take responsibility regarding refund. Paying double sucks!!
Brian at All Hours corporate office did not respond to numerous messages either.

First American Home Warranty: AVOID THIS PLUMBER AT ALL COSTS

November: Came to my house. "Can't clear the clog, unable to locate, recommend roof access clear." The one thing my insurance doesn't cover; how convenient. $75

December: Frank Gay Plumbing comes out, runs snake through my clear out plug, clears the clog nice and easy. $269

This company didn't even attempt to clear it seems and wanted only to collect their $75 and then leave the site. No consideration or care for me as a homeowner. Clearly shows that paying the extra amount is worth it in this case.

Dont Do It - No Stars

First American Home Warranty sent these clowns out to my house after the electronic controls on my Water Heater fried on Thanksgiving Day. I didn?t truly expect to hear from them that day like FAHW said I would so the fact that I did not wasn?t a surprise. They called the following day and proceeded out later that Friday. The short of the story is they gave FAHW bad info so my claim was denied. They took the serial label off my unit, they wanted at least $400 to install the unit even if it was under warranty (Rheem is replacing it FREE OF CHARGE since it was under a recall but the label had to be on the unit) and they wouldn?t be able to do anything until early the next week. Yup all weekend with no hot water. They hung up on me, they lied to me, their tech would not return my phone calls and they did not return requests from the Home Warranty Company trying to help me get my label back. I ended up filing a report with the Sherriff?s department to get the serial label back which they finally did the following Monday. Totally useless!

AVOID

Incompetent. Unreliable. Uncaring.

If your home warranty company suggests this vendor, ask for a different one. Not only did they not solve my problem, they no-showed on the return visit. Getting anyone to answer the phone at the office is a minor miracle.

Solve your plumbing problems sooner and better by avoiding this company.

09/22/2018

Useless

They need to change name to useless all hours emergency . What a joke. Never available on weekends. 0 stars for service and customer service. Don?t bother to call . This company don?t going to help you to resolve your problem. Need to go out of business.

All Hours Emergency Plumber

I have worked in the industry for 10 years. In dealing with All Hours Emergency Plumbing I strongly suspect that this place is a scam front for insurance fraud. It looks like they are connected to multiple mitigation vendors to defraud homeowners and their carriers.

06/21/2018

Don't Use This Company

Not sure how they are in business. I wish I could give less than 1 star because 1 is too much. I had them come out to fix 2 bathroom faucets and a kitchen faucet. the bathroom faucets needed new canisters replaced and the kitchen faucet need to be replaced. All are Moen matching faucets. They did not have the canisters on their truck so made a schedule time to come out and fix. They never showed back up to fix the bathroom faucets. When I called they said the technician had closed out the order so they had to schedule another person to fix. As for the kitchen faucet it needed to be replaced so they replaced it with a non brand name that is not quality for quality. They put the cheapest faucet they could find and replaced and expensive faucet. When I called them they said sorry but we replaced it and will not do anything else. So if you want a crappy job or a job not completed or zero customer service call this company. if you want your job done right call somebody else.

05/02/2018

Zero stars is all you deserve!!

American home Shield warranty for a hot water heater...this is company they choose, horrible! When they called to set my appointment for 3 days later they told me they would call when 30 minutes away which was great because I would have to have someone go over to let them in due to my work schedule. They did not call, then tell me since I missed my appointment they would have to reschedule for 5 days later!!! Are you kidding me, when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was put on hold only to have the same person pick up the phone trying to act like supervisor. This person had to be one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to, would not let them come to my home if they were the only plumber on the planet!!! I would rather take cold showers!

04/06/2018

DONT USE THIS COMPANY!

I would give zero stars if I could. I hired this company through First American Home Warranty Company to replace a hot water heater. I should have known right from the beginning that they were questionable because it took forever to even get them to answer their phone. The technician replaced the HW heater incorrectly by wiring it wrong, which burned up the new HW heater. He also caused a leak inside the wall because he hooked up a heat recovery line to an old pressure relief line during the installation. He left the job, and there still was no hot water. We tried calling the company the next day to complain but the phone just rang and rang. Tried again the next day and got the same thing. We finally had to hire someone else to replace the burned out HW heater that All Hours Emergency Plumbing had installed. When I called the company the next day, to complain about what had happened, Brian, the owner was very rude to me. I cant believe this person is still in business! But, he stays in business by dealing with Home Warranty Companies. He gets paid by them, then also overcharges the unsuspecting homeowner! My home warranty company, upon my complaint to them, did an investigation of All Hours Emergency Plumbing and wont be using them again! They are reimbursing me for my out of pocket expenses to repair everything that this company did. Stay away from All Hours Emergency Plumbing! Not only are they crooks, they also dont know what theyre doing!

This place is a total RIPOFF

I really give this place zero stars. Like several of the other reviewers I saw, I was dealing with this company as a result of a home warranty that was supposed to cover replacing my hot water heat and all parts. They gave me some BS about needing to make "modifications" that they wanted $295 to do. This was a really simple installation, that in no way justified that kind of extra charge. I asked for a refund, but they refused. They did not get a permit, did not install an expansion tank, and did nothing except connect a few pieces of pvc to a new water heater. They are just scamming people to make extra money. This was an intentional ripoff from a very dishonest company.

03/14/2018

Scammers, Liars, and just nasty rude people.

This company is nothing but scammers. They use home warranty programs to overcharge home owners for work that is covered under the warranty. The person who answers the phone is extremely rude and will hang up on you when questioning the charges or will get nasty. She likes to place you on hold until YOU hang up. Here's a little secret, keep that phone on hold and call from another phone, they will answer like they aren't busy and will even help you until they figure out your the same person that's on hold on the other line. Like the persons review on 3/05/18, I have a simple water heater replacement job that they tried to grossly overcharge for. When asking for a itemized invoice they gave me the run around and prices kept changing on things like a floor pan that i was told by them is $35 but the invoice sent to my warranty company said $40. They are clearly scammers. BBB will be contacted!

03/13/2018

Mike is great

I have read all the reviews and completely disagree, while a new water heater may only be a certain amount of money at a retail store it seems that people forget about labor and installation fees.... I dealt with Mike and he was professional he got the job done and was kind and understanding.

03/06/2018

Absolutely the most dishonest of all

American Home Shield sent these people to my house for a leaking water heater. The plumber said we would have to pay him $574 out of pocket, in addition to what AHS was paying him to do the job. A retail water heater sells for about $364 off the shelf at a home store like Lowe's or Home Depot. This "Master Plumber" didn't even know what code was in the area he was "servicing". What a rip off!
