I would definitely not recommend Kingwood A/C and Heating located in Kingwood, TX. I was trying to sell one of my investment properties and the sellers’ realtor contacted them and asked for a quote on some repairs at the house. Without inspecting the property or making any effort to confirm the work needed to be done, they gave a quote to the realtor of about $2850 to replace and suspend ductwork. Subsequent bids were $1600 and $1000. The fact that the bid was so high made the buyer reconsider their offer and was a factor in their decision to rescind their bid and terminate the contract. I feel that their behavior was unethical since I owned the property and they should not have had any dealings with the other realtor without informing me of the request. In addition, the fact that they did not even look at the ductwork before giving the buyers’ realtor a quote makes their professionalism very suspect.Before I knew of the above incident I called Kingwood A/C and Heating to inspect and repair an air conditioning system at one of my other properties. The renter said that the person from Kingwood A/C did not even check the system but told them that it needed to be replaced. When he found out that they were only renting, the Kingwood A/C employee called me and told me that the system could be repaired, but at a cost of $1250. I told him about the first incident and said that I did not want him to touch the system and that I would get another bid. While I was telling him about my problems with Kingwood A/C, he rudely hung up on me and did not try to contact me again. I subsequently had the system checked and repaired by another company and it cost $162 for the service call and to replace a defective part. I have had no problems with the system since then.
