WHAT IS IT WITH BEST BUY AND THIER PHONE SERVICE,IT TAKES ME ABOUT 20 MIN AND SEVERAL CALL BACKS JUST FOR SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE PHONE,THEN WHEN YOU DO REACH SOMEONE THEY TRANSFER YOU TO SOMEONE ELSE AND THE PHONE RINGS ABOUT 20 TIMES BEFORE I HANG UP, ITS LIKE THERE IS NO ONE IN THE STORE, EVEN GEEK SQAUD,YOU THINK THEY WOULD HAVE SOMEONE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.

Worst Buy

I can see why consumers are avoiding Best Buy, which should be retitled "Worst Buy."



I bought two spindles of DVD-Rs that I later found out were not compatible with my iMac. With receipt in hand, I tried to return the DVDs (one set which were unopened). A teenager in Customer Service looked at the receipt, and said "Sorry, this was purchased two months ago. All returns must be made within 30 days." I explained that 1) My iMac was being repaired and I just now realized that the DVDs will not work 2) I said that one package is not even opened. The teenager just replied "sorry, I cannot override the system," then showed me his monitor where it said "No override."



I then asked to speak to a manager, who happened to be one register away. He also looked at the receipt, saw the two spindles of DVDs and said "Sorry, we cannot override the system." I said "these are of no use to me. Can't you do something?" He said bluntly, "nope, it is past 30 days, and I cannot override the system."



So in short, because they did not want to listen to me, instead I get 'cannot override system.' Never mind I am out nearly $50, and that no consideration was made for the circumstances. Just a simply, emotionless, 'Sorry, can't help you. Next.'



Absolutely atrocious customer service from beginning to end. Clearly people who do not know how to be helpful. Avoid at all costs. Do not buy anything unless you a ready to be hassled and treated like a doormat if you have issues.
