We stored two large enclosed trailers for our business at Stow-Kent Self Storage. There is no sensor on the automatic gate to enter/exit the storage area. As a result, one day this month (May 2015) the automatic gate shut on one of the trailers as it was being pulled out of the lot for work. There was minor damage to the trailer and a tire was punctured and had to be replaced. We paid to have the damage to the trailer and tire fixed.



The next day we received a call from our insurance company letting us know that the owners of Stow-Kent Self Storage had filed an insurance claim because they wanted us to pay for the damage to the gate. We explained that the gate was automatic and did not have a sensor so the gate shutting on the trailer was not our fault. The insurance company denied the claim by Stow-Kent Self Storage.



As a result, Stow-Kent Self Storage is terminating our contract and giving us till the end of month (two days notice) to remove our items stored there and find other accommodations.
