Established in 1891, Kearny High School is a public educational institution providing education to students in grades nine through 12. It provides college preparatory courses in various subjects, including business and occupational education, English, world languages, social studies and math. It also provides programs in science, life skills, art, media, music and physical education. The school also offers advanced placement courses in various subjects, including art, music and languages and technology. It also provides school-based youth services, such as after school recreation, trips, group discussions, learning support activities, referrals to other agencies, and substance abuse, employment and family counseling. The school athletic programs comprise swimming, basketball, football and wrestling. Located in Kearny, N.J., the school is a part of the Kearny Schools District.
