Zach Icenhower the IRL owner was hired to do remediation after the Hurricane Harvey and resulting flood. He Took advantage of and scammed us, a senior couple, at an emotional time during week after 9/2017 food. Complete with reassurances, promises, said he could do all that we asked, and even gave us hugs.
Never on time. Did not bring furniture covers, dryers and blowers that he promised. He is a pleasant guy with good pitch. He lied on what materials he would use and cost. Then lied about labor and cost, and charged $500 overhead for $400 worth of work. He lies about start time and schedule.
He could not understand, or wouldn't, the difference between his $0.99/ sq. ft. labor as contracted and actual man-hours expended. He charged me for 30 gal of Microban Spray but used 2-4 gal of less effective Concrobium disinfectant. Charged for 64 man-hours of labor and did two man-hours of spraying and that was terrible, so I re-sprayed myself. Some people call this fraud. I complained about overbilling. First he reduced the price from $4000 to $3500; I insisted he was cheating me. Then down to $2800. I told him it was fraud. I gave him $2000 out of frustration and stupidity. That's 5 times more than the actual job was worth.
PS It's not my style to be litigious, but this one is hard to resist.
