I love this place! First visit was 6 years ago. Every visit is so wonderful and so much great food! We always have a container to take home and the yellow sauce is perfect too. We have never been disappointed and go numerous times during the year.

DON'T GO HERE!!

One of the worst restaurants I have attempted to eat at, coming from a restaurant connoisseur I was extremely unimpressed. Service was well below one star. I brought my mother here for her birthday with my family and like many other viewers I was very disappointed. I made a reservation for the 5 adults 3 toddlers and when we got there they were unprepared for us. We had to wait for them to get everything together. It went downhill from there. We ordered out food and our teppanyaki chef was incredibly rude. When tossing food to us he repeatedly through food at my mother (older ex. 63) when she clearly was not ready and kept throwing them at her while they landed all over her birthday dress and in her hair! Then when she said wait because her mouth was full he replied with "Come on come on I dont have all day..." then When I shot him a look he said just kidding. Really?! Considering there were children at the table he was not very child friendly in doing any trick or gaining their attention for a show while he cooked. Just extremely rude. We were given one drink refill while cups at out table sat empty the majority of the meal.



On top of customer service. Food was mediocre at best. Defiantly not worth the price of $16+ (including a kids meal!) Since when does it cost $16 for a kids meal?!



Birthday Surprise? Forget it. The charge you $5 to sing happy birthday and give you a piece of cheesecake with your picture. Umm pretty sure even basic Applebees does that for FREE. And 1 person came out with a drum and they didn't even really sing, it was only our family singing and some guy just played a drum horribly and off beat to the song.



Worst experience I've EVER had with spending well over $140 and then a $20 for the crappy service.

Re: Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse on Barry Rd. We went there with a group of 14 people. The floor under our feets where we sat were dirty, there was food, rice all under the table area. Our show by the chef was mediocre, I've seen much better, there was very little conversation between the chef and all of us. We were never offered any 'sauces' like green sauce, ginger sauce, or hollandaise sauce. The table beside us got theirs in little dishes per guest, we did not. The shrimp in the appetizers were of good size, but not deveined at all, that just turned my stomach. The chicken used in our dishes was very fatty and had tons of gristle in it. Some of it even looked like thigh meat. The quality of the food was not good in our opinion. Our group will not be going back. There are many other great Japanese restaurants in the KC area, this is NOT one of them.

Having been to this same type of restauraunt in many other cities, we like this one the most. The chefs are quite good, the waitresses are helpful, and the bartender,Hung, was awesome.

This place is not too fancy - but instead is noisy, comfortable, and feels like a big party when the tables are full.

Not the place for a quiet romantic dinner, but is great for family outings or double dating.

Did I mention lots of great shrimp?

This place is by far the best place to eat in Kansas City. The food is good, the chef is entertaining and all around its a great atmosphere! By far, the ebst chef is Densin (I doubt I spelled that correctly). Everytime I go I ask for him. He's the best and I can't imagine having another chef!
