If you're looking for a kitchen remodel, you want the best. You consult the internet and find a lavish store that claims they give you a one-of-a-kind experience! Portfolio may seem like a well to do company...they greet you at the door with a smile and give you a full tour and offer a free consultation. Wow, right? Not exactly. What you don't see is what goes on behind the scenes. Not only is the company severely disorganized, they also charge much higher than the average KC area company. They have many battles with other companies and contractors because of their disorganization and upper-class entitlement. They treat their employees terribly! Constant harrassment, no breaks, and they don't offer benefits to their full-time employees. Not to mention, their employee turnover rate is through the roof! Before venturing to this "elite" source for kitchen design, ask yourself what you want from the experience. Do you want something original, unlike anything else, designed by someone who cares? Well, Portfolio's designers, pull from the same materials over and over again, they use the same appliances for every project, and they keep poor records of everything. They also treat their assistant staff like dirt. Hired to wait on the designers hand and foot, these assistants are criticized to the max and given little to nothing for their troubles. When it comes to a great company that gives you the BEST you want to make sure that the BEST is through and through. Don't choose a company with a pretty facade...choose a company with an honest committment to their customers AND their company!
