Foot Traffic is approaching a big birthday ( our 25th ). We began in 1986 as a specialty sock store under the name d.b.a. SOCKS. We learned early on that our customers wanted more selection of quality, but fun, socks and fashion forward hosiery than we could find. We bought every style in every color we could, but it just wasn't enough to fill up our store, or satisfy our customers. So we set out to create our own styles to fill what eventually became an eleven store specialty chain, with locations in New Orleans, Atlanta, Washington DC, Boston, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. We started by focusing on design styles, materials and construction that would create a more unique, higher quality novelty sock offering. We then expanded to printed tights and on trend knit hosiery. Soon, other retailers looking for unique, quality socks, tights and hosiery began asking if they could order from us. It was during this period that we changed our name to Foot Traffic. As it turns out, our retail store experience put us in a unique position to understand the needs of our catalog and web customers. Bottom line, our designs and styles were selling in a big way!
